I wouldn’t look any further than the next game. Washington is currently the underdog though I would have to expect that the Daniels situation is affecting the current lines. Either way this will be a real true test of the defense’s progress.
 
Watching that replay again, I don't know why he didn't just try to run to the sideline and past the corner instead of cutting back in to where more defenders would be.

He was humbly confident that he could take it to the house. 😉
 
Probably limited in what you can do to change how he runs. He’s got a life’s worth of instincts and competitiveness there. He clearly has no interest in sliding.

(Which is why I think its important to be smart about when you choose to call those plays, especially in the opening/scripted drive)

The team needs to have that attitude. Fans - I'm absolutely looking at the rest of the schedule and wondering how much noise this team can make?

Why do you think this will be a big test for the D? I assume because it's Caleb Williams? Their offense has been fairly putrid this season overall, although it has been better the past 2 weeks. They have a pretty good D though, like 6th in the league in yards given up. Better against the pass than the rush.
 
I said this before the Cardinals game, that Cliff's knowledge of Kyler Murray would be a big factor. Ditto this week with Williams. He will know every tendency and weakness and spend a lot of time talking to Joe Whitt Jr. about how to design a gameplan to test those areas.

Better defense and very good skill positions of offense. If Williams plays well the Washington defense will be pretty strongly challenged.

Yeah until Daniels status is clear I wouldn’t expect the line to move much. Interesting they even put it out there without knowing.

Another thing impacting it is the defense that gives up 30+ per game to any offense it plays that’s solid.

Giants, cardinal, panthers, and browns are the only teams they’ve looked good against. Murray is having an “uh maybe he can’t play” year, Jones was the same when we played them, Panthers on their second string qb which is an old and worn out Dalton, and Watson is so bad the browns fans actually cheered him going down with a season ending injury.

The four games they’ve looked good against are against QBs that shouldn’t be in the league anymore, or look like they’re on their way out (and soon…)

And could have easily lost the giants game if they had a kicker.

Giving up 30+ is hard to overcome reliably.
 
Have you looked at the Bears schedule and who they’ve beaten?
 
And in no way am I indicating we should wipe the floor with the Bears, nor any team…
 
Not me. Hard enough to follow my own team, not much time to follow others. Briefly looking at their schedule I don’t see anything that concerns me.

They’ve got their own issues with a rookie qb and a team that’s been in upheaval following season after season of disappointment or underperforming.
 
I certainly wouldn’t put the bears at -1 as the visitor. That seems ridiculous to me, but I do know there is hype around Williams getting better and our QB situation is unknown.
 
Chicago is also coming off of the their bye, so maybe that is a factor, though I believe that the questions around Jayden is the most consequential consideration.

Do you still operate on home field is worth 3? If so then the odds makers are saying on a neutral site the bears are a 4 point favorite?

I don’t know how I feel about that anymore. Seems archaic to me. Idk that there’s a standard number that makes sense across the board (do we get 3 hosting the Steelers? Cause for 20 years they’ve played home games at fedex…)

Curious how you think about that.

I’m struggling with the notion Chicago is 4 points better than us. Or 1.

Given how Mariotta played, and the overall reputation of Kingsbury and Quin, and how this teams played since week 2… I’d make us at least the 1 point favorite on a neutral field without Daniels…
 
I guess I do…but I find it very strange that Washington is a home dog unless the line is being completely skewed by Jaydens current situation.

They’re begging you to take them right now which means it should move to +3/3.5 soon…
