This would be the move I didn't really see coming, but it makes sense to surround Sam or a rookie QB with some veteran playmakers that know how to get it done in this league. Chase Edmonds was a valuable pass catcher out of the backfield for Kingsbury in Arizona, and I see Ekeler being deployed in a similar fashion. This is a QB friendly player and for that reason it is a fairly smart move.

I like it, he's the robin to BRobs batman.

he's exactly what we all hoped AG was going to be.

We got him cheap. He won’t be the bell cow. He can greatly help a rookie quarterback

Ekeler's receiving numbers.

I dont like the ekeler signing . Too many holes and rb is not one of them
I think you are jumping the gun a bit in disliking this one friend. A cheap signing for a veteran RB who can come out of the backfield to receive catches, reunites with one of his former coaches which should help him integrate with his teammates better, and should be a vocal prescence out there also.

Yes I would have not liked if we paid too much more than what we did, but on the face of it, fantastic value for the price and we still have plenty of cap left for other more pressing needs.

I would've kept AG, but if you let him go, you need a complement to BRob. I think Ekeler can be excellent in that role.

Yeah, they didn’t pay much for him. He’s been extremely productive catching the ball. Last year was a bad year for him, which knocked his price down. It’s the cost that has me less concerned about this one. Here are today’s signings.

12M - Barkley and Jacobs
8M - Swift and Pollard
6M - Ekeler
5.5M - Singletary
3.75M - Gibson
3.25M - Edwards

i think this is about right. Ekeler also only signed for 2 years, Without knowing the details of the contract, this seems to be a good but unexpected signing. I’m not jumping over the moon on this one, but they didn’t pay too much for a guy who in the past was very productive.

When i first read it I thought it was 11 mil a year not 11 mil total. So with that understand it doesn't bother me

We better get some OLINE help ASAP or we are dead next year. Giants, Eagles and Cowboys even better at the Edge this upcoming season

I think we are going to see some experience added on the left side of the line in the coming days for sure. It is literally a bare cupboard there right now. We need another proven starter in FA and at that point, you are arguably entering the draft with one or two spots (if you have no confidence in Wylie) to add starters. In this draft and with our capital, that is a goal that can be accomplished.

Who did those teams sign? I saw the Eagles signed a LB, but who have the others signed? I agree the O Line needs more work, but I didn’t see where Dallas or the Giants got any better.

Panthers are the worst run team in professional american sports they were offered 2 1s and a 2nd from the rams last year for Burns and this year they trade him for a 2nd and 5th.....

Sigh. Still better than the way we blew the offers for Trent Williams a few years ago. Thank goodness those days seem to be gone.

Not quite as bad as this - we were offered a 1 and a high level player but yes it was a bad trade
