Washington Hires Adam Peters as GM!

Just goes to show there are 32 teams out there with offensive and defensive coaches. A smart GM knows the league and has an eye on which candidates from these teams, those NOT on the hot, hot, hot list on ESPN are good bets to be successful at the next level of coaching.

Beathard plucked Gibbs.

George Young picked Bill Parcells to be HC after only ONE season as defensive coordinator.

John Harbaugh was a Special Teams Coach.

Some really pedigreed guys on the offensive side of the ball in SF.

Brian Griese - QB Coach
Klint Kubiak - Passing Game Coordinator
Klay Kubiak - Asst QB Coach

Made some posts on 'X' this morning wondering if Josh Harris and company are going to visibly step back now that we have a GM, HC, and Coordinators in place. I think he absolutely should as (my opinion) he may already have been too involved. Someone brought up a great point. Will Josh Harris be on the stage today at 2:30pm?

I think it would be a great sign if it's Adam Peters alone up there introducing the new staff. Will be interesting to see.

I understand why you are saying, but I don’t think having the owner on stage to announce a new coach is a big deal. Most owners would be there for such a big announcement. But I do agree that now that things are falling into place on the football side, it’s time for him to step back on those things. I believe he will, but what remains to be seen is if he thinks that time is now.

I think it would be a great sign, too, though I don’t feel he was too involved considering the situation fully.

I don’ think him being on stage would necessarily mean anything negative. But him NOT being on stage would be a clear and intentional signal he has handed off and gets it. I would love to see that.

I actually think Harris should be there, but ONLY Harris representing the ownership group.

Harris and Peters introducing Quinn is fine to me.

If Harris is there then he can be asked once again about the name change. 😎

This feels big

The Office Thats GIF

The Marty’s officially demoted. Hurney apparently to some type of ‘advisor’ role (seems like probably a precursor to retirement?) and Mayhew is going to be Senior Personnel Executive or something like that. Although they may have been ignored/hamstrung by Rivera, I am still glad to see their roles being diminished and new Front Office blood being brought in.

Seems like a fair thing to do. I mean Peters will need some transitional personnel. This way he keeps them onboard for insider organizational knowledge and the prep work they began on FA and the draft and then can ease them out or even further to the side next year.

So Mayhew is ensuring the donuts and coffee arrive for meetings 🤣🤣🤣
