BTW... Seeing this spite with New England, the disfunction in Carolina, the mistreatment of Jonathan Taylor in Indy, it's a hell of a breath of fresh air not to be the ones they're reporting on for a change.

Someone with a net worth of $1m would pay $1,460. Tepper’s current NW is $20.6b.
 
On the other hand, expecting someone to lose a significant % of their net worth - for throwing a drink - is pretty moronic.
 
The league fines players weekly for a much higher % of their money, often for pretty questionable offenses.
 
Maybe they should have gone for 0.00147 % of his net worth? :)

The point is, any fine they'd impose (even one PFT things is reasonably outrageou) isn't going to hurt Tepper or any NFL owner. But they should fine him again for that 'apology'.
 
You know I emotionally invested in another pro sports team this past year. Guess who the owner is?
 
Maybe he'll end up getting Snyder-ized. One can hope.
 
The NFL needs a better discipline system. Fining the stupidly wealthy is no way to deter unwanted behavior.

Draft picks, roster slots, reduced max cap number are all things that would be more effective.
 
Not for this kind of nonsense. Being a dick even if you’re an owner isn’t desirable but it’s not a serious matter either. The public embarrassment of being called out is probably more effective than anything else for something like this.

Just my 2cents.

But you get the sense Tepper is the same kind of arrogant prick Snyder is and maybe that’ll be his downfall some day too. That comment about him being able to bulldoze the guys house is so despicable and arrogant. I really do hope the NFL censures or fines him again for those comments.

I didn't mean for this incident specifically, Boone. I was talking in terms of real disciplinary situations. Throwing his drink at a fan is despicable but rather minor.

However, if this reported "apology" is even half true, it's pretty clear Tepper has no more respect for the league then he does the fan he threw his drink at.

And that's an issue.

Falcons are making a huge mistake letting Arthur Smith go. I think he is going to be a really good HC. It's not his fault they drafted Desmond Ridder and are treating him like he's a franchise QB. He is the guy who resurrected Ryan Tannehill's career with the Titans and is a really good playcaller. He's be on my list as a potential OC.
 
Of everything that's transpired this season, a couple of things that have surprised me most are the falls of Trevor Lawrence and Kenny Pickett. Two young guys who were supposed to be franchise saviors just totally imploding. I thought Jacksonville might make serious playoff noise this season, but they just absolutely collapsed down the stretch.

Going to be interesting to see what happens with each of them. Lawrence will obviously be back and hopefully bounces back. I'm not sure that the Steelers may not move on from Pickett. Yes - he just had surgery on his ankle, but he has not lived up to expectations in Pittsburgh by a long shot. And while Mason Rudolph has played great in the 3 latest wins and may not be done, it strains credulity that he could be the answer at QB. Wonder if the Steelers go back to the well and try to move up for a new QB in the draft or take a big swing in free agency?
 
I’ve always liked Vrabel. I wouldn’t be unhappy with him as a DC.
