Yep, that's where I am too. General Manager first. Someone with a vision how he/she wants to build a team philosophically, while also taking into account what's here now and how best to transition to a new paradigm on the fly. Included in that, then, a HC willing/able to share that philosophy and get everyone from scouts to capologist to coaches to players buying in.

Or, put more succinctly ... a winning culture.
 
How much money would it cost us to entice King Gibbs to come back even if to replace wright?!!
 
Gibbs is 83. He's also the guy who was reportedly instrumental in us bringing in Rivera. I love JG and obviously, he is Redskins loyalty. But he's done. I'm not sure what qualifications he would have to run the business side of things. That's what Wright is responsible for.

I'm old. I'm not stupid or without value. But the NFL is a younger man's game and I think Joe's best days are well in the rear view mirror.

Just my opinion.

I agree, Boone. It's time Washington allows Joe Gibbs to enjoy retirement. He has done enough here for us over the years.

Time to write the NEXT great chapter in Washington football history.

I will admit that Jim Harbaugh intrigues me for several reasons. But, I don’t want any coach to be the chief decision maker. I doubt that Harbaugh would be intrigued by that.
 
This has been one of the LONGEST NFL seasons I can remember. There have been others where the team has lost a lot of games, but because of the ownership change and the lame duck status of everyone, its been especially tedious.

If Howell had not played well early on in the season it would have been a complete flush of the toilet.
 
I just told my wife that the last game until September is tomorrow and that it is the last game that I have to hope for them to lose. 🤞

Just read an article that while Harbaugh previously said he'd have to pick the GM he worked with, that that's no longer his position as the NFL has 'changed' since he was a HC.

I think Harbaugh is a longshot here - because I think we're bound and determined to get a GM first (as we should be) and I feel like a) by the time that happens Harbaugh may already have a job offer elsewhere, and b) a new GM would have to favor that hire which is again not assured.

Yeah - the word I used recently is *excruciating*

This offseason will be the most impactful since prior to Joe Gibbs coming to the organization.

For sure McVay, McDaniel, and Shanahan. The other two haven’t done anything noteworthy.

Y'all are really trying to act like that isn't a slight on us? All those ein ing coaches and thriving franchises that came from our fuck ups aren't a bad sign on us?

Green Bay and the Texans have not been thriving franchises.

I think some of those examples of guys that got away are valid. But I think the obvious caveat is that even great coaches couldn’t succeed with Snyder here and we all get that.
