Random Commanders Thoughts

It felt like Howell was targeting them more because they were checkdown and outlets. They might have been overwhelmed by it, but still need to be ready.

Veterans like Thomas and Gibson always seem to get the first crack at the job.

They have to play their way out of consideration and with perhaps one year to prove himself here Bieniemy can’t afford to carry guys that are embarrassing the team on the field.

Ultimately true players emerge. Look at Curl, late round pick that just kept making plays in the limited snaps he started off with.

I see the same thing happening at TE and more so at running back as it seems every year there are 2 or 3 practice squad backs around the NFL that get promoted or claimed who contribute down the stretch.

Would we actually have a different QB ready?

I’d probably be okay with it. If Howell doesn’t work out I want a high, high pick.

Same thought was going through my mind after Rodgers got hurt.

I’ll take a #2 pick.
The Jets won't have a #2 in 2024 - that will go to the Packers for Rodgers since he obviously isn't going to play 65% of the Jets' snaps this year.

I'd probably be fine with a 3rd though. :D

I think there are better options out there if the Jets are looking and Brissett has no history with that offensive coaching staff. I also don’t think Rivera would trust Fromm as the #2 with no real experience.

A third seems cheap. Add a 2025 pick. 👿

On a more serious note. Do the Jets have some oline men or a linebacker who could represent an upgrade?

I could totally dig a Schroeder for Lachey kind of trade to happen again.

This is becoming a concern

Since we drafted him, you never heard his name.. which means he was successful. We're hearing his name....

I'm not remembering a bad snap this weekend but maybe I'm forgetting?

Caught a few clips of Chase Young’s press conference and something about it rubbed me the wrong way. In it, he was talking about being glad to give the younger players tips and the usual stuff, but I kept thinking that he should be talking about how excited he is to be back on the field and to prove himself. How excited he is to help the guys out and make plays.

Chase isn’t a grizzled vet all star. He’s a fallen star who needs to ascend again. I just wanted to hear more fire, more of a chip on his shoulders. If he was going to lean on sports cliches and go through the motions and least choose the disrespect trope.

I may be reading a lot into a minute of tape, but this guy has charisma whe he wants it. I want to hear him want it.

After all the time rehabbing, none of this should be old hat.

I agree 1000% burgold. Ill add imo he looks all to content in his game day cheerleading role. The way he jumps around, waving his arms around like he was makes you wonder how hurt could he really be. Seems odd

No, you guys are dead on. He should be grinding and his entire focus be on reaching his potential. We’ll see. I hope he realizes where his legacy currently is and decides to do something about it.

I haven't watched it yet, but if that's the case I'm about ready to move on from Chase. The DL looks better without him anyway. Lock up Sweat. Maybe he'll get a chip on his shoulder after we don't sign him this year.
