I’m not sure what you mean by first, but I’m all for making inroads to past players. A lot of bad feelings on their way out for a lot of guys and building back that relationship is important. Champ built his name with the Redskins before going to Denver to become a hall of famer. He also says in the article he’s been wanting to comeback, but the timing wasn’t right. The new ownership was what made the timing right according to him (and obviously others). These things are all great in my opinion.
 
I sort of remember Champ forcing his way out and demanding the trade. Rumor was it was because of an affair and his wife gave him an ultimatum.

He was a good player here, but is a guy who demanded he be traded the person you want to celebrate?
 
More than a rumor. We were told that directly by a high level exec. I don’t recall him using the word ‘demand’, hard to know if he asked for the trade or it was an ultimatum. But it worked out pretty well for both trade partners.

I’m thinking if my marriage is on the line, I’m going to be pretty focused on that as a priority over ‘what’s best for my current team’

Sure, but as a fan of the team, I don't know that I have to put an individual player's wife over my team. I reserve my right to feel jilted lol

I do wonder if there hadn't been an ultimatum (Champ was considered a top 3 corner at the time) if we could have gotten a more reasonable trade. I mean an elite cb for a good rb might be okay, but us also having to give up picks? Frankly it should have been Champ for Portis and a Second to us.

You have to remember that Vinny made that trade. He was the village idiot in the league and everyone knew it.

I'm at a loss with how poorly we are doing. Howell is even looking bad.
 
Can’t disagree. We’re playing a team that’s supposed to be worst in the NFL and getting stomped.

Playing a QB that’s been with their team for two weeks and getting stomped.
 
Howell is a statue in the pocket. He might as well be named Carson.

I wanted to see first if he would play and then if he was healthy. But if the Cards are getting rid of players, I would see if they would give up Zach Ertz for a 7th or maybe a 6th. The guy can still play and he’s better than Thomas. It would be an almost free TE upgrade.
 
The TE play yesterday was rough. Logan Thomas does not look like the same player from a couple years ago . Cole Turner had 1 nice catch and Bates had a couple stupid penalties . Ill give him the benefit of the doubt on the PI (that was a weak call), but it was clear EB was trying to work the offense through the middle of the field out early in the game and honestly the TE group failed miserably IMO. It was weak 1 and Ill be patient and enjoy the win HTTR
