Random Commanders Thoughts

If we didn't make assumptions or have opinions would we even have a need for any media or chat sites?

It's what we do. We take trends, make assumptions, post them and wait for reactions. I don't know if I'm right, but my thoughts are the Murray contract are going to make them ditch a whole bunch of people

How do we know we weren’t ‘in on him’?

I guess it's fair to say we may have... but given the lack of urgency at the position to this point, i'm not willing to give Rivera the benefit of the doubt... sorry. It is an assumption on my part...

Charles is heading into season 4 - some of what Wharton is describing would be more appropriate for a rookie.

For anybody who might be interested in Saturday's game vs. the Bengals...

I really don't understand why they are playing any starters - particularly on the OL where we are an injury or two away from downright scary.

I think Ron and EB are making their final determination on the interior OL rotation. And trying to give Jacoby at least a few reps with ones protecting him.

That or they’re into Russian roulette.

Yeah - did have that thought - gotta have somebody in there to eval/protect the backup QB. Not like that position doesn’t matter…

Once again our D that needs all the practice they can get...sit. I hope Young has a good ol time and enjoys himself. He's obviously done enough in his contract to not need the practice.

I was rooting for Allen to make the team, but he played his way off the roster. Too many drops.

Patterson always overachieves. I doubt we keep him, but I wish we could.

This game showed absolutely nothing. It might as well have been played in shorts and t shirts

So, I gotta say, on first impressions, I prefer Bienemy's approach to preseason more than Rivera/Del Rio. Yes, on paper the defense is a killer, but they have looked shoddy against ones, struggling against the run and letting teams march down them easily on the opening drive. So what message does Rivera/Del Rio send... take the day off. Heck, take the last two preseason games off. I think this may lead to the complacency for which this team is known. More, there are some players coming back from injury (like Chase Young) and others who probably did need more live reps. Unless Young is being shelved because that stinger is still impacting him.

Bienemy on the other hand, Played his starters a lot more during the preseason and even in this finale, he trotted a few out. The few he trotted out often played at positions where the team or at least we fans were less certain. So, he basically told them, "Prove it. Show me you're ready." And yeah, that does increase the chance of injury, but it also helps players focus. They know they can't loaf.

Now, the defense is more heralded than the offense and the offense is learning a new system. Both of these are reasons outside of philosophy to play the offense more, but I just got the feeling that Rivera/Del Rio bubble wrap players a bit too much and I've felt that way in previous preseasons, too.

Yep, makes no sense. Even a series or two gets them in the mentality of prepping to play and then actually playing.

Nah, let's have them all swagged out on th sidelines laughing it up. One step forward, two steps back. The Redskins way.
