Why would a good coach wish to have a player who doesn't act like a pro nor is capable of running proper routes on his team? You're making accusations for which there is not one shred of evidence. This is DT's 3rd year; he's had ample time to learn to run routes. And besides, since Shanny didn't like him out of college and DT hasn't improved any, why would any sane person keep him around under those circumstances?

Absolutely any statement by anyone not personally privy to or involved in either the conversations between or interpersonal relationship between Mike Shanahan and any given player or players that is made about the psychological dynamic operating between Mike Shanahan and said player or players is based on speculation and guesswork and is likely driven by individual emotional responses to one or both parties and has absolutely no testable or verifiable evidence that can be presented favoring any particular conclusion about either party.

Therein lies the rub...nobody really knows. So pulling out that card is kind of useless, because we can turn around and use it right back. Unless you of course happen to be arguing with Mike Shanahan.

well....serv...the reality as you well know.....is that fans act on partial knowledge, adopt an emotional pov...and that is it. there is no standard. far be it for any coaching staff to ever want to protect its own position/reputation or play its own manipulative games in the public media. nahhhhh.....never happen. they just lay the cards out there for all to see. having been behind "closed doors" in other venues, I fully understand the import of "keeping it in the locker room"........

look...I don't really care whether DT comes or goes. I do care about an abysmal receiving corps...year after year after year after year.

yes...but in all your responses....I fail to see one that addresses my assertion about modern offenses and the trend to bigger, stronger X and Z receivers.

Shanahan's ego was one reason I forwarded. and he most certainly has a towering one. Personally...I happen to think the main reason is Shanahan could't reach across the cultural divide. too "old school" if you will.

disagree with the latter point. fully hoping AA does well.....he will have a role. I have argued - and no one has countered - that the way modern offenses are now being built and how the best receivers in the league are used (with some exceptions like Steve Smith) - the obvious trend is toward bigger, faster wideouts. there are things you can do with these kinds of receivers that you can't do with the smaller variety. that is why Ceratto drafted those two second rounders. we don't have any of these kinds of receivers - it would be nice, would it not, to have at least one given how erratic Donovan's accuracy has ALWAYS been. One guy who you can just toss it up there and he can go get it. one guy who could really assist our anemic running game. one guy who would demand attention from opposing DCs. you think DCs gameplan any of our wideouts? I doubt it. Santana would be the most likely and he is aging and way too inconsistent.
