The guys look at 5 key position groups and some players the Commanders might look to add in the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft.

Great pod gents, appreciate all the work to get the highlight packages in there along with the insight from your studies, CH who knew you would be so damn prepared, almost like a teacher or something. Question, are we doing another draft day watch along the first two nights?

That's the most I've ever heard CH talk on a pod...like...ever. Great info Paul on these interior Olinemen!

Also comes as no surprise that Boone likes the same TE that I've had my eye on in Tucker Kraft. Would love for him to fall to us!

Bob and Derek's take on Overshown is spot on and it would be interesting to find out if the interest is genuine or just a smokescreen.

I hope Om finds his notes. Blame it on the bourbon Mark!

Great job guys. Canadian Hog, you are an encyclopedia of football knowledge.

Also, put me on the list of people who think the free agency is hampered by the sale. I know Rivera hasn’t been known to be aggressive in his time here. But I definitely think he’s even more afraid now. He’s on thin ice and another Wentz, Jackson, or Fitzpatrick and the new owner will have even less faith in him.

Yeah, I think most of us agreed with Mark's primary point on that - I was just adding that Rivera has never been a 'big free agency splash' kind of guy. So I'm not sure it would've been much different even if the sale wasn't looming. And I think the point I constantly harp on - that Washington is not close to being a preferred NFL destination and hasn't been in a long time - is also a big factor.

And Norwell, T Turner, etc.

I think it’s a positive that Rivera doesn’t utilize FA much.

Agree on the destination. Even going back to the late Jack Kent Cook days, guys came here for one reason, to get paid. James Washington used to brag on the radio how he stole money from the Redskins. That was in the 90s and it just got worse since then. Anyway, I’m hoping that all changes now. It’s time to build a winning culture from top to bottom.

Just so everyone know's i've separated out each individual position group discussion into it's own segment on our Youtube page. If you don't have time to listen to 1:45 of pod, these segments are substantially shorter. Jump over there, subscribe, and check it out... link here:

Hey ST - is it possible to pin our last 2 full pods? The only downside of the minipods is that it pushes the full one's off the front page (at least when viewing on a PC). Not a huge deal, just wondered if their was a 'pin' or 'sticky' option....?

And meant to say thanks for taking the time to break them out!

I’ll take a look

It's like they read our board and listen to our podcast

This guy has been on our radars for a while now.

Now considered a 2nd round talent? Wow.

When I started looking at him, he was a 4th/5th round guy. I don't see us using a 2nd on him with our other priorities.

Curious if this isn't exactly what they're looking for. McCain is gone... defense was noticeably better when he shifted into that 'nickle' position. McCain is gone, so I have a sneaking suspicion that a replacement for that is on the dockett. I could see it coming from either LB or S (or both as a matter of fact) in the draft. If we've seen anything from this group, versatility and experience. Double digit starts over each of the last 3 seasons, an LB that can rush the passer as well as cover a slot WR...

I think they may be looking at Butler as an immediate replacement for McCain. He was listed behind McCain on the depth chart last year.

Doesn't mean they won't look to add more there this year, of course. And a bigger body with speed, like Overshown, would certainly be an intriguing prospect, especially with his ability to blitz or drop into coverage.

I just wonder how this stacks up in the positional priority list.

Good lord - the pre-draft coverage on NFL Network is soooo bad. Fashion, runway walks, and asking players who will never answer 'which team do you think you end up being drafted by?'.

Oh - and the players? They are all blessed. Trust me. Blessed. It's a blessing to be so blessed.

I have it on and was thinking the exact same thing....

I hope the guys on the panel now are not the ones assessing the main event. Who is the bald guy who won't shut up?
