All that matters is what kind of game Scott Turner calls. Focus on running - either QB has a chance to win out for us. Focus on passing, we will all wish we had taken this time to discuss the draft and who we might take to better the OL.

Couple quick hits: We scored 12 against Da Bears, not 7. Five whole points!

Noticed that the NYG tie game is recorded as a loss. I realize it's just a function of a limited spreadsheet ... and agree that it certainly felt that way at the time. Be interesting, though, if that half-game ended up being the difference in a playoff season.

The Giants tie as a loss was on purpose... the error with Chi was not lol

I think we all agree the rushing attack is the strength of this offense and the more we lean on it the likelier we are to be successful.

That being said, I don’t agree we can’t win if we have a pass heavy attack. We can. But it would require our OL to pass protect much better and Wentz not to make mistakes. I don’t know how likely it is both those things happen on the same day

Washington's 5-1 streak through the middle of season started to lose momentum in that tie game against NY and has snowballed the past 2 weeks.

Taylor's play has certainly contributed at points as he has failed to secure the ball at critical times and has missed some wide open throws that he is capable of making. The offensive line has gone down a notch in performance since Larsen was injured and went on IR.

During that 0-2-1 stretch the team's defense has also failed to step up and get the critical turnovers as it did earlier against Atlanta, Philly, and Green Bay.

The New York Giants offensive line and secondary are among the worst in the league. Yet in two games against New York, Washington's defense failed to get the kind of pressure it did from it's front four that it did in the earlier games and turn over Daniel Jones as Dallas, Philly and Detroit did in previous games. On offense, Washington could not convert many chunk plays against a Giants' defensive unit that gave up 48 points to Philly, allowed Dallas to throw for 375 yards and the Vikings to put up 30 points last week. One touchdown in either or both games against NY could have had this team locked in the playoffs already.

So, it's not surprising that Rivera is looking for alternatives to jump start a team that seems to be fading. But let's be honest, the TEAM is fading - it's not simply a Taylor Heinicke problem.

New York's winning margin in Game #2 was the turnover touchdown. Why Washington couldn't muster up a turnover or a special teams play to help put the offense in a position to score an equalizer is as problematic as the play of #4.

Certainly, more production from the quarterback position will help. But that increase in passing yardage and downfield potential with Wentz on the field can't come at the cost of more sacks, fumbles and interceptions or it becomes a zero sum game of losing 35-26 instead of 20-12.

Wentz looked sharp and quick in decision-making coming on against the 49ers. But let's realize that San Francisco at that point of the game was guarding a 3 score lead in the fourth quarter. The key is what Wentz is going to do at 0-0 in the first quarter to set the tone for the games he starts.

The 0-22 and 0-24 starts against the Lions and Eagles earlier in the season give one pause to the thinking that Wentz just gets back on the field and we start games with scoring drives in the first quarter against Cleveland and Dallas.

These last two games are a big challenge for this team. Both Cleveland and Dallas have solid defensive fronts and good pass rushers and Washington's offensive line is one of the team's weak spots.

Whether it will hold up to give any pocket passer the chance to set up and be effective is questionable.

And it's also questionable whether the defense that was talking about being in the top 5 several weeks ago, shows up and has a 4-5 sack game and/or produces the consistent pressure to force turnovers of its own.

I think we all appreciated Kurl, but I think as much as we love him we may have underestimated how good he really is.

Del Rio as much as said so today, and add St. Juste who was just starting to turn a corner. We’re going to end up playing scrubs at key spots again like we’ve had to do 3 straight seasons in a row.

Yeah, the one downside of trading Jackson for peanuts is that we have absolutely no depth. On the other hand, losing him certainly was addition by subtraction. The defense made a huge jump as soon as he was off the team.

Other than Washington doesn’t currently have an even decent offensive line, he’s not wrong.

If anyone cares we are currently in the 14th spot for next year’s draft. We can move up as many as 4 spots. These are the games and teams to root for.

Philly owns the Saints pick so New Orleans winning would be extra good. Texans own the Cleveland pick.

I would rather Sam Howell plays great and shows promise. But if not and we lose we can get help for the draft.

Do you think this team would be in a different position with pickett? There is a reason Tomlin has never had a losing season as a HC...

I honestly question this staffs ability to do anything at the position. We've seen nothing to lead us to believe that any player coming in here would be effective outside of someone who can manage the whole offense from behind center.. and you wonder if even Brady or Rodgers would be afforded the luxury of that flexibility

Are there any other current head coaches in the league that appear to do less during the game than Rivera? Other then clap when the team occasionally scores and bitching at the officials?
