Uniforms are next to the Steelers throwbacks as the worst in the NFL.

Seattle’s lime green and black is ugly as hell too.

He also has always been known predominantly as a highly effect man to man DB. He showed it today, he was in position A LOT when it was man. He had a couple penalties, but the dude was there. The TD to Lamb makes no sense. I know we'll never know the play call, but Jackson looked like he was playing Zone while McCain and Curl were playing man. Jackson was bailing taking away the sideline... like he believed there would be help over the middle / top. Fuller was a top of the league slot corner when he left here to go to KC where he won a SB playing a rotation of slot corner and FS. We ask him to play outside in a heavy soft - zone scheme. We've all seen St Juste out play both of those other guys when he's outside, and we start him on the inside at slot. We see Jamin Davis flash when he's playing down hill, either as a QB spy, or when he's blitzing... instead we count on him to cover Ceedee Lamb and Michael Gallup. We see Davis throttle Goff on a perfectly executed stunted blitz, and I dont know that i've seen him blitz in the 11 quarters since.

As far as the O-line goes, we rush for 100 yards in the first half playing a down hill style of power run, then we switch to an outside zone / draw heavy. The first half the playcalling had the O-line going forward... There were quick hitting plays where we saw Terry, Samuels, and Gibson getting the ball in their hands fast allowing them to make plays. In the 2nd half, we only saw those playcalls when were behind the sticks. We were scheming up 50/50 balls.

Our roster is a lot better than what we've seen... the problem is we're being held down by a coaching staff that refuses to adjust to their strengths.. and refuses to adjust to what the other team is doing. I've always been on the optimistic side, but none of us believed this team was truly a contender... we just figured there was a lot of room to make hay because of the talent of the team, but nobody can win with the coaching decisions we've seen... the team on the other side is too good to just lay down and die.

Thanks for correcting on WJ3. We have some great talent - but as I said originally, the OL and DBs are nearly bereft of it. The coaching has been terrible, I don't need to be convinced :) But it starts with talent and we continue to overrate this roster.

Most fans, myself included, like the black jerseys. That may be a reflection of how bad the other two jerseys are, but that's what I've seen/heard from the day they were revealed. That makes traditionalist fans mad, but I think that's accurate. The jerseys aren't on our top 100 problem list.
 
The Steelers knock offs were roundly mocked on social media and on TV.

This club deserves every bit of it. The fanbase gets punished for being caught in the middle.
 
The iggles ones are horrible. I know most people hate them, because even my friends who aren't friends sent me messages asking me what the hell those were.

They have nothing to do with our history, our scheme, or where wright said we were going with the rebrand.

The Jerseys aren't on the team's top 100 problem list, and they are effing horrible. I mean, Seeing some random team in all black with yellow numbers lining up against the Cowboys was surreal, in a terrible way. There's nothing there. I understand changing the name because you have to, but this. A gasp at maintaining the interest of a dying fanbase, badly. Insultingly bad. Again.

Debuting those things against the Cowboys. I'm laughing at how desperate that was. So so bad.

So that's my take. And that's pretty much all I have to say about the game as well.

I'm speaking about the aesthetics of the uniforms. They are cool looking and sorry but most of the feedback I've seen from fans is positive. We aren't the Steelers, but we aren't the Redskins any more either. The black uniforms have burgundy and gold numbers and accents, so as an alt jersey I don't really see anything to get mad about.
 
Wright made it perfectly "clear" in the beginning he wasn't changing the color scheme. Yet, here we are looking like a discount brand Steelers team. It may not be the biggest thing to be mad at, but it's one more twist of the knife in a wound they refuse to try and heal.

I think they don't see the "alt" jerseys as changing the color scheme. They also probably see it as a way to get more to the pocketbook. At the end of the day, when analyzing their motivations (and unfortunately many people's motivations), start with how it affects the bottom line and you find the truth. That's a sad reality, and I imagine for MANY on this board, kind of difficult because it is not how most of the people naturally operate (based on what I've seen/read).

It's a nice cash grab for them. Jerseys, merch. If the fanbase is dwindling, and the crop of people who are still buying will buy almost anything they spew out, then a whole new line of merch gets those wallets out, as well as potentially a new group of people who dig the new color scheme (like Boone was alluding to). It makes sense for them, and in their minds they did not go against any promises because these are "just" alt jerseys.

Did you guys catch this "elsewhere" by the way? Blade was clearly perturbed by the jerseys, maybe moreso than I can recall at almost anything: Where is the Burgundy and Gold? Who the heck are these guys??? - Page 2 - The Stadium - Extremeskins (redskins.com)
 
Looks like Blade is done with the team. Can't say I blame him.
 
Since we seem to be in the mood to wallow in suffering today, here's a pick me up...

Here is the thing:

Most teams use a throwback jersey as their "alt" or 3rd uniform. Thanks to our rebrand, that avenue isn't really open to this team so a totally different road had to be traveled. They have done that with the black jersey.

Do I wish they had used the burgundy jersey first? Yes, yes I do.

Do I wish I even liked the white jersey? Yes, yes I do.

Did I want to like the all-black look? No, I did not want to like it.

But I do.

And the very fact that we are spending this much time on the GD jersey after watching that game yesterday is something of a win for Rivera and Wright because it means we are not laser focused on the abismal product they are currently putting on the field.

Dan Snyder needs to stop trying to play chess with the fans and just win games.

For my part, I'm talking about the uniforms because that's the only thing that's really up for debate about this team. I wouldn't call that a win.
