Kirk doesn't handle pressure or non-routine schedules well. I mean, when you get a color guy in Aikman to say you're tightly wound in the usual talks with the press before the game...yeah...not a good thing to have.

A Super Bowl is a super longshot with him at the helm, if not impossible since a Super Bowl is both a night game and the schedule is wacky.

Rich Gannon was a nobody before Gruden, average journey man. Cousins might luck into that at the end of his career but Gannon was Cousins without the ridiculous contract his whole career.

That's life in the NFL. Sometimes really good QBs never get a chance to prove themselves or they end up stuck on a bad team. Gannon finally got his chance with a superior coach like Gruden and he took full advantage of it.

Cousins is not capable of playing as well as Gannon did during the Raiders' run to the Super Bowl in 2002.

I've never been particularly impressed with Cousins' poise in big games. I'm still mad at him for that total stinker of a game he played against the Giants at home in the 2016 season finale. His lousy performance in that game cost Washington a playoff spot.
