Not so much the league as the minority owner and the team's main jersey sponsor. We sort of had the first until the minority owners opted to sell rather than stay and push to remove Dan. We have never had the second.

Both things prove that with the NFL money talks.
 
That’s only partly it. I think the real driver is that there are so many skeletons and so much dirty laundry to be aired that no power brokers in the NFL want to make a powerful enemy who might provide revelations on a counter attack.
 
That's totally fair and likely true.

I also have the impression that Sarver might just be a more decent and understanding guy from the off.
 
I think we are talking about a good person who made mistakes vs a bad person who thinks they did nothing wrong. To me, that is the difference with Sarver as it was with Richardson. A lot of times we measure the amount of mistakes or seriousness of mistakes and determine if that person is good or bad. But sometimes the difference is not in if you made a mistake, but did you realize you made the mistake and stop doing whatever it was you were doing. I’m not defending what Sarver or Richardson were involved in, nor am I saying that selling the team was enough of a punishment. But to their credit they realized they made a mistake and took action because of their mistake. Meanwhile, this other guy still thinks he did nothing wrong and even has his wife defending him and downplaying the situation. He will never admit he was wrong and only will sell when he is forced to do so.
 
Some people have no moral compass. There is no good or evil, just winning or losing. If they are ‘winning’ their actions are totally justified in their eyes. Snyder will not go away unless he’s made to. If us nobodies can’t make him, he wins. The end.
 
I have zero long-term hope for this franchise as long as Dan Snyder remains owner. Here's the key thing. If we 'blow it up' again and start over, take a wild guess who will be selecting the 'next regime'?

Joe Gibbs couldn't get us close to the Promised Land saddled with Dan Snyder. I have to believe no one can.

I just don't know the details in the other two situations to compare. Here, however, with Snyder - we read and know so much about him. It's a lot of words, a lot of little things that go unreported out of the local market, we can pick up a lot.

He has a big history with this team. I fully believe he wants this team to be Snyder owned in perpetuity; he wants to hand it to his son. I think that is his vision. It's his prize possession. He has a true emotional connection with this team.

I have come to believe that. Sadly, that is kind of what most fans dream of; an owner who feels about their team the way they do, rather than as a cash cow or something like that. Unfortunately, it is a total nightmare situation for us; he is a horrible owner, but more importantly, he is a horrible person from what we know. That doesn't mean he has no redeeming qualities, I am just saying that for many of us, we have read enough stories that it starts to ask too much for us to simply take him at his word that he's changed. I am not talking about the football team AT ALL there.

His emotional connection, though, keeps him completely tied to his desire to hold the team. That is how I see it.

I think a shoe is about to drop (either the NFL investigation report, or the Oversight Committee report, or both) and Snyder is clearly going on offense and trying to get ahead of it. The clearly planned 'appearance' with Jerry Jones was meant to remind everyone that he's a very important owner and has some powerful allies. Nothing Snyder does is without some nefarious intent. It's who he is.
 
It seems more likely to me that Snyder’s on-field appearance, along with the team’s release/promotion of the photo of him with Jones, Wright and Tanya on it’s social media account, is a probable indication that some level of vindication is coming soon.

yeah it sure feels like someone on trial that has learned the prosecutions case, and now they're trying to discredit any witnesses

Well Chris may have been saying Dan is more confident, and that’s why he did that pic (only based on “vindication” in his post.

i think he is confident but I also think that the guess it is to send a message is more likely, coming off the heels of those reports.

I wish Tom Davis would shut up, not sure what he knows about any specifics. Many of the bro culture allegations specifically call out Snyder and predate Allen so the new Snyder claims already seem absurd on their face.
the republicans have made it clear that if/when they get power back this will go away. Too bad. Leaving politics out, originally I did think this was a waste of time but I came around because it would be nice to know there is some accountability for failing to provide a safe environment for people and even fostering the opposite (leaving some of the extreme allegations aside, which obviously make it that much worse). When the NFL makes it clear they are not policing, then someone maybe (arguably) did need to step in, even though in an ideal world it would not be needed.
