The guys kick off the regular season with a conversation about Bruce Allen's damn good deposition to Congress, talk Carson Wentz vs. Trevor Lawrence in the opener, and offer our thoughts on what in God's name to expect in this inaugural Washington Commander's season.

More absolute nonsense …

Paraphrasing "I might disagree with that statement more than anything else you've ever said." Needs to be a T shirt. Wentz not getting any love from the "experts" doesn't surprise me, if Brady was in Washington the media would make him past his prime and rank him 20th. Spite I tell you, spite.

Yeah, the ‘are great QBs born or made?’ Question is a pretty interesting one. Of course, it’s got to be a combination of the two things, but I’ve just come to believe given a reasonable talent level that some guys just seem to ‘have it’ and others don’t.

When it comes to QBs - I’m definitely a nature over nurture guy :) Smart people may disagree…

Great job, fellas!

Looking forward to being back after a win vs. the Jaguars.

Oh, and yes, Mark - I will gladly accept your entry for the Crystal Ball Pool a day late!

Being in a decent situation also helps, I often wonder if Ramsey hadn't gotten the absolute crap kicked out of him under Spurrier what could've been, same with David Carr in Houston. You get your ass put on your back that often your psyche has to get ruined.

Im not sure I buy that either. Is there any doubt in anyones mind that Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady don’t find a way to be great QBs on any team in the league? Having a solid situation doesn’t hurt, but I just think the good ones find a way.

For the record, I am picking us to win against JAX. But given how much time I spent last night talking about Trevor Lawrence ... here just a taste of why from preseason.

Having this game come down to the need for our D to hold a one-score lead in the final minutes comes with a pucker factor.

They both started with winning teams, they didn't get their brains beat in first. Yes they might have succeeded but your statement is as much conjecture as mine. If Rodgers had been behind the Texans O line his career arch would've been different and if TB was stuck with Spurrier's who needs to block offense his career arch would be different. So yes I have doubts, not saying they wouldn't have eventually got to where they are (although NFL teams are more impatient than ever on moving on from QB's) but having solid ground to stand on early helps the confidence and the extra brain cells that didn't get scrambled before the frontal cortex was fully developed.

But that’s the point SO - yes those things are helpful but the good ones won’t be stopped. The ones who just don’t have it won’t succeed no matter what the support. I would argue Patrick Ramsey was never going to be a great QB - no matter what. Joe Gibbs made that assessment very quickly and moved on.

Just my opinion. We’ve spent a lot of years in DC trying to make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear when it comes to QBs.

I always find we play better as a team when we are disrespected and low in the polls. It's once we start getting attention and buying the hype we fail. I blame that on coaching.

Why I also included David Carr, kid had tons of talent coming out of college and literally got annihilated every game for years, how do you recover from that to become great??

On a side note, I thought Ramsey had more potential for us than Jason Campbell which has absolutely nothing to do with what we're discussing :unsure:

Carson gets to face his old coach who knows all of his tendencies to fuck up.

Jags take this 21-16. Lawrence shows he's already a boss.

I know he's supposed to be a great OC, but I swear I spend half the season asking "what the hell was that?!!" when I see his play calling.

3rd and short - empty backfield 5 wide - nuff said

Scott is a spoiled version of Norv.

He can't function without a Christian McCaffery.

Come to think of it, Norv was a tad spoiled too....

Kam Curl out for the Jags game. That hurts.

It's not shocking to me though...

We seem to always have injured players every year that just never materialize how we want but get carried on to the next year.
