Random Commanders Thoughts

I mean, that's really something to name a guy to a coaching spot with zero coaching resume. Usually former players are 'interns' or get a 'quality control' position for a couple seasons before they are offered legit coaching spots. Good for Kerrigan and obviously it speaks to just how highly they think of him.

Agreed. Hopefully he lasts at least a few years here before moving up in the ranks. It would be cool to see him achieve Grimm style success or better.

I don't know how common it is, but Philip Daniels took the same route.
He went directly from playing DE, to his first coaching gig, as an Assistant DE Coach for an NFL team (Eagles)

Yeah, truthfully not sure. But I’d think it represents a ton of confidence - because playing is not coaching. They must have great hopes for Kerrigan.

I'm sure it helps, that RK had an excellent, existing rapport and respect from the whole existing D-Line.
So much, in fact, they might have even been campaigning for him.

This is kind of cool....

but is this a clear sign they've picked "dog' to be the mascot?

Most likely not. They'll hear we like dogs and change it to penguins just because lol

Everything they do is confusing. What is an ‘MVP’??

Most valuable pooch.

Chase Young reaggravated his ACL injury at Von Millers pass rushing camp.

Unfuckingreal.

Team is denying he aggravated it - supposedly based on bad information that some reporters just ran with. He was never expected to be ready for the start of this season - that’s the team narrative for what it’s worth.

I sort of have this nagging feeling that Young will never become the kind of dominant player it was assumed he’d become when he was drafted. I’ve just never got the sense he has the kind of drive and love of the game great players do. I’d love to be wrong but fear we missed with that crucial pick.

Yeah, I don't know now either. But, it seems that it may be true. I'm just overly frustrated with this guy in general

Would be par for the course, right? Obviously I’m not on the ‘Chase Young is a future HOFer’ bus. I’m not even sure he is a perennial pro-bowler but we’ll see.

I had high hopes for him. Ohio State has put out some good defensive players, and he has all the tools to be one too. Mix that in with "hometown boy" and it's a recipe for success.

But, alas...here we are.
