Random Commanders Thoughts

Baldy usually looks for reasons to believe in us, so I don't really fault him for not doing so this year.
The dude is probably tired of being wrong, for our sake, lol

They're selling Sean Taylor jerseys in the commanders logo for $130 now. I am not even surprised at the outright money grab this organization is doing now.

I mean they are running a business and are entitled to make money weather I like it or not so I hear ya but its even more disturbing to me that they would use his name and the back of the commanders jersey. Taylors name only belongs on the back of one jersey and one jersey only imo . Its funny this came up because when the name change became final I thought to myself I never wanted to see A Sean Taylor commander jersey

This organization should have more class and not be so desperate for money that they disrespect him two times in less than a year.

Wes died in his 70s due to health issues. Sean was murdered in his own home in front of his family. That's the big issue I see with it.

The thing is, I would have no problem it if they continued to ONLY sell this style jersey

IMHO you could continue to sell these 'throwback' jerseys with all the former Redskins that were never Commanders. I ordered 1 of these as well as a white one of his shortly after the name change, because I wanted to make sure I had them. Fans still want to represent the old players, but be smart about it... let them represent them in a jersey that is a uniform they wore, even if the name on the front is different.

I'm glad Portis had the privilege of playing for Gibbs.
Man, if that team only had some more offensive weapons besides Moss, it could have gone deep into the playoffs.
That Gregg Williams Defense was stout, and amazingly "out-defensed" the notorious Tampa defense, IN TAMPA, and in the playoffs.
But then the offense, not surprisingly, sputtered in Seattle.

Quarterback issues, man. Quarterback issues.
Brunell was so motivated at first. He may have only had the medium ball left consistently, but he hit when he needed to.

Didn't he hold the most completion in a game record for a while when he was with us?

I was gonna say QB was part of the problem, but whenever I think of Brunell, the first thing I think of is "Brunell to Moss, long, twice in 5 minutes, against Dallas for the comeback".
But I guess that was a bit of an anomaly with him, and I forget that, with it being so long ago.

most CONSECUTIVE completions in a game

Wasn’t it like 22-22 for 180 yds? It was pure dink and dunk from what I remember.

It was *mostly* dink and dunk - but impressive nevertheless. Brunell was a helluva QB. I wish we could've gotten him on our roster 5 years earlier than we did. Very competitive guy, and in his prime, he looked a lot like Russell Wilson.

Is this the year that the team’s MVP is not Tress Way?

Over/under on how many games Curtis Samuel is available this season?

I’d set it at 7. That’s because I’m an optimist.

In his 5 yr career he’s averaged 11.6 games a yr . 3 of those 5 he played in at least 13. 13 -16-15 respectively before the down year in Washington. I like Curtis and think he can bring electricity to our offense- add to that he doesn’t have to be the man in our offense so less pressure on him . I’m going to be a little more optimistic than you Chris and say he’ll be right around his average and say 11

After 2 years, my dad finally got his refund for his 2020 season tickets. He cancelled his tickets at some point during 2020, but they did not refund his money even after the fans were prohibited from attending games. He had to fight for the refund as they just tired to roll it over to 2021. I guess they thought everyone who cancelled in 2020 would just come back in 2021. But he finally got his money back and he’s done with giving them money.
