4 out of the last 5, ST. We drafted a LB in the first last year.

I admit, I had some doubts in the opening hours too but I think a lot of that was my perception of what some guys had done vs the reality of what they had done. Specifically with Ioannidis. His last 2 years really aren't all that and a bag of chips. Losing Settle still stings a bit but honestly, if the guy was killing it so well, how come he wasn't in the game more? I'll trust the coaches on this one for now and see where it shakes out on the field in September.

4 CONSECUTIVE years.

The moves have had 0 impact on the field to this point because the team hasn't played a down since they were made.... so the book is not written on it. That said, it was less about the moves, and more about how haphazardly it felt when it went down.

Ionnidas is a bigger issue than just cutting him.
You've got a disgruntled Payne in the last year of his contract
You cut Settle
You cut matt

If we don't draft (again) heavy defense we are going to be weak (again) on the front line.

you do realize we've used our last 4 first round picks on D-lineman right?

yeah which would be why we had a very solid dline, but during that time we didnt find very many mid round gems at lb or db and thus when our front 4 was great and had the best depth in the nfl, our back seven sucked. a few years ago we had the opposite issue, some of us remember when we had amazing depth at DE, LB and DB and the geniuses decided to switch to a 3-4 and suddenly we had a decent back 7 and a terrible front 4.

which would be why you cut ionannidis or trade him (there would be someone willing to give up a late rounder) and you KEEP settle. especially with the contracts coming up

And my answer to that is the fact that each of those years we've been bottom 1/3rd of the league we've completely neglected offense. There has to be a balance.

I am frustrated with letting Settle walk right before you cut Ioannidis, but all 4 of those first round picks are still on the team, so to play the other side of the card, we're all getting upset about the depth behind the front 4, not the starters.

You're also referencing changes and philosophies of people who are no longer in the building.

We can't keep holding past coaching staffs failures against the current ones.

If Bruce was still here I would be looking back over the span of 10 years regarding personnel. Dan Snyder is still in the building, so the track record of shady things remains. If he sold the team.... would we carry over accusations of sexual misconduct and terrible ownership to the next owner, or would we let them establish their own building?

It's like saying (new owner) mistreats women because this team has mistreated women for 25 years....
