Got the ESPN plus alert 30 minutes ago but was driving, I hope fedex field stays f***ing empty. Number one other than chief zee how many headdresses did you see, war paint, please. Does that mean if a young kid has WFT on his face theyll turn them away? Whoever is running the pr department isn't tone deaf, they're oblivious to the actual fan base.

they took the name
they took the band

there really isn't a reason to go to the games this year.

But the NFL is okay with still allowing the Kansas City Chiefs to pipe in music at Arrowhead that encourages thousands of fans to engage in a tomahawk chop.

its only a matter of time before Redskins gear is banned, too.

I don’t think so. I think this signals they won’t go there (the statement even references burgundy and gold being welcome). I think they are just trying to control overt NA costumes but realize trying to ban previous jerseys/colors would just create too many problems.

Outside of Chief Zee, can you name one person who wore a headdress? I can't.

I would not put it past these people to ban the Redskins name totally from the stadium.

I haven’t seen a lot of full NA garb - Chief Zee and ‘Pocahontas’ were the main folks I recall. But I have seen a lot of face paint. I think they were clearly banning NA-type face paint. Can’t imagine they would care about WFT on someone’s face?

To me this is all about ‘doing something’ without really doing anything that will impact the vast majority of fans. Those that predicted they won’t allow previous jerseys (or even Redskins logo-ed stuff), I just think they don’t want to deal with the uproar that would generate.

You can always count on this team to do something so completely pointless & stupid that you’re left in a state of confusion awe.

This.
They made a "decision" that affects, pretty much, no one. Other than Chief Zee, and that girl who dressed like a squaw, and a few random fans who wore a headdress, (yeah, I've seen them in our section before), this won't affect anyone but a handful of fans. I go to all of the games and am having trouble recalling anyone wearing face paint. Maybe I'm not paying attention.

There's no way that they ban Redskins jerseys and hats. Yet.

While I had limited my attendance, even before the name change, there were a handful of head dresses at every game I attended. Nominal, for sure...but there was always a dozen or so in the stands, and it seemed like the number was growing each year. Even last year when I attended the Gnats game with a limited crowd, I still saw them...after the name change.
