Random Commanders Thoughts

I think Guice is damaged goods and his next serious injury is almost a foregone conclusion. I know that's not a popular take, but he hasn't been able to stay on the field more than a handful of games so far. Hard to see that changing especially with his violent, seek out contact running style. I admire the kid's toughness and attitude, I just get the feeling he's going to turn out like Jordan Reed and never see his full potential at the most physically punishing position in football.

Would love to be wrong.

My exact thoughts on Guice after he got hurt on two separate occasions last year. When he makes it through a game, I’m pleasantly surprised. I don’t know how they can rely on him. I want him to be healthy, but it has to happen for me to believe it.

I think it is, too. I think of Grant Hill and how he came out booming but his feet just kept giving him issues until he was just a shell of who he was.

I would love for us both to be wrong. He is a great dude. Hopefully this can be just that he had bad trainers and the coaches didnt use him right.....hopefully
Grant Hill foolishly played on a fractured ankle when he should've sat out and healed properly. He ruined himself .

You watch Guice and are scared he's gonna break just like all of us did with Jordan Reed. If he misses a large swath of this season, the team should move on.

The NFL has lost any doo dads they may have ever had. Players say the kneeling isn't meant to disrespect the flag, but they are either too stupid to realize that kneeling while the anthem is playing is extremely disrespectful to a lot of people, or they just don't care. Since the NFL has gone all in with the political garbage, my only reason for even paying attention to it now is to watch the ratings absolutely crater this fall. By giving in to this crap, they've basically said "We don't care about fans that grew up being taught respect for the flag and the country and choose instead to pander to the 20 somethings. The fall will be glorious

Even their hero, Colon Douchebag, who's credited with starting the whole charade, specifically said he, "wouldn't stand for a flag....".
The more some of these guys talk, the more they reinforce the notion of "dumb jock".
Because only a liar, or someone dumber than a rock, believes it's "not about the flag".

Of course, now the city/team is bowing to the mob with the removal of Marshall's statue.
Even retiring Bobby Mitchell's number is being used as salve for the butt hurt.
(Should have happened long ago. Comes off as phony and opportunistic now)

I guess, in the end, the NFL does represent the current state of the country. Weak, delusional, and hardly worth caring about.

I don't know why, but workout videos never impress me.

Nestle is changing the name one of their candies....Redskins

I used to get a bag sent to me from Australia before every season. Sucks.

The truth is there is no real tolerance. People talk about having a real dialogue about race, sports, politics, etc but many are simply too insecure to hear anything that does not jive with what they already believe.

Twitter has exacerbated this as there is nothing more useless and inflammatory than short text bites posted from behind a veil.

that is because people make up stuff like Bubba Wallace did
or
people decide to take a good idea and ruin it with "lets take down statues of Jesus because he is white"

Nobody wants to try to sift through the BS if the people with the issue cant be 100% honest and legit at all times.

That is the last I will speak on this.

That's been my main beef in all this. People say they want dialogue, but what they really want is monologue and for the captive audience to just accept what is verbalized. That's not dialogue.

With all due respect....we're way past the dialogue stage. That much is obvious to me. What we see unfolding is about power/control and money.......lots and lots of money.

Be safe my friends. Be smart.

You’re right in that regard.

Even keeping the discussion to pure sports.

The baseball owners and players headed down the path of no return with this lame excuse for a season.

Neither side gave a damn about their customers and want us to swallow an illegitimate schedule.

After watching the Nationals play 180 games to earn a title there is no way I am going to consider a team playing 60 games a true champion.

The strike shortened NBA and NFL seasons still produced winners that played more than 50-60% of the games.

MLB wants us to cheer a team winning after playing 37% of the schedule?

What a f****** joke.

I think Dan Snyder is cleansing the Redskins organization of references to George Marshall in an effort to demonstrate he is doing something proactively to address racial injustices of the past, so that he doesn't have to cave on a name change. May prove to be a smart strategy.

I’m not sure anything would placate this mob, he’ll have to tell the name change crowd to gfys or cave in.

Its a strategy but I'm not sure it will be enough. The team name is front, center, and in people's faces all the time, especially if you live in DC or are a fan of the NFL. Marshall, and his history, is old news and likely obscure to anyone not invested in the organization. Expunging him from the team history is likely to appease the masses briefly but in the current climate, I don't see it as a long term solution.

No, I don’t think so. He’ll ignore those calling for a name change and removing the Marshall symbols will give him the political cover to do that imho.

the cries of the DC Mayor are comical at minimum. She wants us to change our name...but, we dont even play in DC!
