Random Commanders Thoughts

Interesting photo. Hopefully not what it looks like.

He's watching our defense give up another TD. Same ****ing look that was on all of our faces watching it.

Shame on anyone assuming it reflect some significant immaturity or dysfunction. All the kids done is work hard, say all the right things, support his teammates, and wait patiently.

Skins fans don't deserve the past 20 years, but we are part of the problem.

Our turd of a head coach will let Colt see the field before Haskins

Yeah, there is zero context to that photo. I saw him at another point later in the game talking to one of the assistants. Let's get a video of that and read into it as well. I know it's not going to stop the fans from making up their own narrative, but if fans make this a thing before this kid even has a chance to play, he will have no shot at success in this town.

Btw - that wasn't intended as a dig at you @McD5 - that pic is all over Twitter with stupid skins fans making a big deal out if it. Even if he were irked, I wouldn't blame him. I mean , he may be thinking ‘3 INTs and 2 fumbles and I'M not ready?'

That's the scary part.... Gruden just can't end the love affair with Dolt. The front office has their part in the dysfunction, but Gruden is the major issue. Tired of the excuses... the waiting.... the watching. The Gruden "didn't have this, or that" is not acceptable. 6 years of looking like monkeys ****in a football while other teams turn it around with new coaches and young players in a couple of seasons. Every discussion we have is moot in reality while Gruden is coach. We will never go anywhere until we have a change in coaching.

Pic looks to me like Haskins is simply thinking “I ain't the one who keeps coughing up the ball and throwing 87 pickles.”

Haskins didn't need to look at the tablet. He watched Keenum do it.

Truth to tell, I don't want to see Haskins on the field while Gruden is here. Let Colt finish out. Don't allow Gruden to get any more dumpster juice on Haskins than he already has.

Gruden and Manusky are going to be week to week.

Let's face it, they get lucky in facing a Giants team that lost Barkley and still has Tate suspended.

This is one game this motley crew of coaches could actually scheme up for.

But the next week they get the Big Daddy in facing Brady and New England and we will know if they are ready because that game is 52-0 if not.

But that's the worst part. This team should beat the Giants. Yet the coaches know that without Barkley they are limited. So they won't take them as seriously. We've seen it time and time again.

It looks like he's thinking 'what the hell kind of team did I get stuck with?'

I'm not sure why we would hope he doesn't think that. I know I sure as hell do.

Shawn Springs said this morning on 980 that while he would not start Haskins this early based on how disorganized things look on the field he definitely thought Haskins COULD go on the field and play the quarterback position in 2019 if asked to do so.

So, the idea Haskins is nowhere near being able to call plays and execute because he is a rookie at this point is largely Gruden spin.

Again it was his desire to prevent Haskins from taking a beating and losing confidence in himself that had him cautious.

Remember, it supposedly takes a full season for a QB to grasp the vaunted Jay Gruden offense.

I suppose Springs was talking about playing qb in a proven successful NFL system.

But if we had that we might not be 0-3.

Springs indicated watching the Bears game that the offensive gameplanning for Chicago's best playmakers was non-existent.

Gruden's never said he's ‘nowhere near' - that's just media spin. All he's ever said is that Keenum gives them the best chance to win at the moment.

If there was a meeting of the great minds after the MNF fiasco that the gnats game is a win it or else then I hope the skins lose. To clarify I want them to lose this one game so the turds can finally be flushed.

For the record I'd be completely fine and down right giddy if they win out, or even win just enough to miss the paloffs. Just this one to start the process and get 2020 on the right track.

Bruce HAS to be let go as well or we'll continue to spin the wheels going nowhere.

Just noticed this morning that this thread went over 25,000 recently. BGO has been hitting on some good milestones recently. Pretty cool.

But for the wrong reasons ðŸ'¿

Just once in awhile it might be nice to discuss an achievement for the Skins akin to the Caps winning the Cup in 2018 or the Nats inspired run to the postseason in 2019.

Understood, but could you imagine: "You've been promoted to head coach. We're playing the Pats next week."

That would be a fun meeting to sit in on. :D

The Redskins caught a huge break with Barkley's injury. He's exactly the kind of multi-dimensional threat that eats up the defense.

Oh I'd love to watch every meeting on video, like hbo's Hard Knocks style!

On one hand you'd have the oh shit/deer in the headlights factor. On the other you may have the replacements rising to the challenge and actually have our squad in a prepared state of mind. Extremely doubtful with this club but ya never know.

You know Belichick will do his best to embarrass us, he does it to good teams. If it were me I'd want the defense to reach deep into the playbook and bring out unspeakable blitzes that were reserved for the Apocalypse. The score will be brutal regardless.

We already know the refs will call roughing the passer if anyone's within 5 yards of Tommy. I'd blitz his ass every play to make sure he remembers that game for the rest of his career. All week let the defense know that they have to knock Brady down as if their very lives depended on doing so.

My offensive strategy would be similar to the D's mindset, but we're running the ball 8-10 times a quarter. Every possession would be 2 minute drill with heavy emphasis on runs. Those sumbitches are getting 150 yards on the ground or they're Uber'ing back to Landover.

Probably a good thing I'll never be a coach huh? lol
