I have to agree with Boone. We've seen players get second opinions outside of the team in the past for injuries.... Samuels did if I remember correctly, and there were a few other.... memory doesn't serve me right now

Percentage I feel sorry for TW if it's financial? Roughly 0%. Then again, even if it was medical I'd feel just the same.

Chris Samuels had to deal with Kindergarten Ninja basically just saying he had to man up. This isn't even in the same galaxy.

As far as TW is concerned I believe he's using the DJ Swerringer/Antonio Brown model of throwing tantrums until your current team trades you away. Here's AB's 'how-to' message on such antics.

Pisses me off Trent is acting this way so he's dead to me now, and not gonna dwell on it any longer. Player attitudes like this is what'll ruin the game for future fans.

Ok. So we may lose our All-Pro LT and we are now seeing comments from OTAs that our first round selection has problems with footwork when under pressure - leading to bad passes and ints. Start Keenum until the LT position is sorted out and the prize QB overcomes his hugely exploitable weakness.

Our 30 year old, oft-injured 'I-wanna-be-paid-more-than-any-other-NFL-OL-in-the-NFL All-Pro LT'? Yeah. And Haskins is a rookie. There are going to be ups and downs. You neglected to share the 'he has arm talent unlike any Redskins QB in recent memory' comments.

Having a great arm doesn't mean squat. There have been a ton of QBs with great arms who failed - Jeff George anyone?

My post is directed at who starts day one - not whether Haskins matures into a quality QB.

It's kinda obvious what's going on with TW and the merry-go-round of tackles cycling through the rioster every other day. It's precisely because I want Haskins protected while he learns the game and fixes some issues that the matter is raised. TW wants more money and he appears wiling to play hardball. What's waiting in the wings? Nothing!!! Let Keenum take the beating. No quality LT (should this situation deteriorate)? No solution (at least now) at LG? This is a disaster waiting to happen.

btw...apologies Case. But it is a business.

I know you want us to maintain a certain level of optimism, and it's frustrating to see some of us constantly place emphasis on the negative, but the concerns that Al and I had about this kid coming out of the draft, are on display in camp.

Nervous feet destroyed every single 1st round QB we've chosen in the past 25 years, dating back to Heath...other than Campbell, but he was just too slow to know any better.

Can it be corrected? Well...we're all hoping. Will it be corrected? We'll see.

I'll worry when I need to. Right now it's June.

We don't know who the day 1 starter will be. But, we do know there will be one.
We don't know if PotHead Dumb Dumb will be at LT. But we know someone will.

We don't know if Gruden will ever achieve "average" status as our head coach. But we do know cold beer and steamed crabs is a fine meal.

It's been almost 15 years since I had a good mess of steamed crabs(NC doesn't understand good seafood)....damn Ax is making me hungry!

I don't care what your all's 'level of optimism' is - I'm stating my own POV :) The idea that the kids got some fatal flaws based on throwing picks in his first 3-4 weeks of practice with a new offense and roster - it's just flat out silly. He's gotten a ton of mad praise from media coverage guys for some of the throws he's made, but I'm not claiming that makes him the next Joe Montana.

I haven't heard anyone characterize him as having 'nervous feet'. He does have a tendency to throw with his feet not fully set, mostly because he has a strong enough arm to get away with it (or did at the college level). Read any draft profile and you'll hear how he can throw accurately even when his platform is imperfect. That's something he'll need to get better at with pro speed in the mix.

I'm on record as supporting Keenum starting if he looks better. I think it's still a toss up. But Keenum should easily win a QB competition given his wealth of experience, vs. a rookie who's rarely even taken a snap from under center.

We have a blue crab orgy at the beach every year. We don't do local - NC crabs just don't compare - we fly in a couple bushels from Maryland. Great way to spend 3 hours :)
