I agree with you that if they were going to can Gruden, it should have been after last season. What I disagree with is extending him now. What if things go really south this year? Then Gruden's has taken the team from bad to good to mediocre to injury riddled to bad. If you give him that extension now, you are stuck with him. I don't blame Jay for all the injuries, but there are still things he does wrong even with the players he has. So I think you see how things start to shape up this season. His contract runs out at the end of 2020, so you don't have to get something done this year. But if things are going well this year, then I think you do give him an extension. I think he's already the first coach in Snyder's tenure to get an extension. Getting a second hopefully means that things are going really well for the team.

Starting over in year 2 would be a serious negative. You either believe Gruden's development as a HC has been hamstrung by several years of crippling injury or you don't. I think if they can Gruden after the season they will bring in a coach from that will continue with the WCI and not like the skins used to do jump from whatever the hit flavor was. Which will eliminated roster turnover.

Or turn it over to Callahan and promote everyone on offense. I would rather the team try subtle changes regarding the staff vs the next shiny toy. I'm hoping with hope that Jay actually relinquishes playcalling to Oconnell, Jay sucks at it. If so I think the team in-game adjustments are going to improve. Jay needs to step back and not micromanage the offense while lending more help to the defense, if needed.

And special teams, can't forget about those guys!

Would love to see room to play with under the cap, and a restructure seems ideal for both Trent & Brandon. But, this seems petty on the surface and very odd coming from an aging vet imho. This offseason was going way too good in cohesion, karma insists we do not get too comfortable I suppose.
