Burner's Burning Questions: Free Agency, Mocks, Camps, OTAs, Roster Predictions, 2019

Re: Burner's Burning Questions: Free Agency, Mocks, Camps, OTAs, Roster Predictions,

How's the plan going to lock in our right guard? Lol

Can we even screw that up? Rhetorical.
I know we can.

DJax released by Bucs

*edit: Apparently DJax saying ‘goodbye' on Twitter but Bucs denying he's been cut. Regardless, hard pass.

This makes me think the Swearinger effect is starting to spread. Basically talk mad shit about your current team to get released and or traded. Worked damn well for Antonio Brown and a few others.

"Brudan". I like it. Also stealing it.

Yeah it's pretty catchy, I stole it from someone else here but forgot who. Ax maybe?

Brudan "here hold my beer"

Hey, y'all... watch this!!!

Re: Burner's Burning Questions: Free Agency, Mocks, Camps, OTAs, Roster Predictions,

DJax traded to Philly.

Re: Burner's Burning Questions: Free Agency, Mocks, Camps, OTAs, Roster Predictions,

BB, why no on CJ Mosley? I watched many Ravens games in the past 3 years in this market, that kid is good, very good. Is it money?

Re: Burner's Burning Questions: Free Agency, Mocks, Camps, OTAs, Roster Predictions,

This is not an early 2000's Vinny move. Collins is a defense-changing impact defender who is a leader, wants to be here, and is only 25 years old. Yes - we paid out the nose for him, but a lot of his reported ‘salary' is likely not guaranteed and incentive-based.

All we've done for 3 or 4 years is bitched about this FO being cheap and bringing in mid-tier talent. Well - they just locked up o e of the best defenders in the NFL for the long haul.

I'm happy - because our defense is going to be nasty...

Mosley is good in the run defense and not so good in pass coverage. Tight ends and slots tend to abuse him. Let someone else overpay for his services.

Win...it was fansince you know when who coined that moniker!

Re: Burner's Burning Questions: Free Agency, Mocks, Camps, OTAs, Roster Predictions,

Can we please play Collins where he excels at strong safety and not ask him to cover Zach Ertz 35 yards down the field? 😉

This team has a way of acquiring players and then putting them in schemes that expose their vulnerabilities and fail to accentuate their strengths.

The defense is honestly shaping up to be consistently good for the long haul. Between Collins, Payne, and Allen, you got three guys who can be pillars for years to come and that you can build around nicely on the defensive side of the ball.

This is a good move for 2019, but more importantly, it is an even better move for 3 to 4 years from now when this team is hopefully legitimately ready to start competing in the NFC with a brightly shining star under center.

To me, it is obvious that this offseason is all about setting the table for the 2020 draft and putting us in a position to do what it takes to land the QB we covet.

This is so right. It's been a problem going back a long time to many coaches and coordinators. They seem to misuse guys and just expect them to learn to play a new role or play it there way. We need the coaches to accentuate the strengths of these players. All the talent in the world won't help if you have a guy playing out of position or trying to cover when he's a tackler, etc.
