But I thought he'd be a fine backup?

I think they have to have a trade in progress, maybe multiple trades. It's fine to cut guys because you don't think they are talented enough - but you have to a) acquire replacements who are upgrades talent-wise, and b) they have to learn the offense in a hurry.

We're putting the season at risk here with almost no OL depth at all. As a couple folks have said on Twitter, if the Redskins were this unhappy with their OL depth, why the hell did they wait until now to address it?

Yeah, something is up and we won't know for a while. Could also be looking at who is cut from other teams. Corey Coleman was released and he could be someone the Skins may consider. Way early in this process.

Part of the problem was documented recently in an article I read about the lack of quality interior lineman available. I am not going to get much into the would'ves and should'ves...I like the Guice pick. But what if we'd addressed the biggest need on our offense in the 2nd round, also keeping the Turds from acquiring a quality young gurad, and drafted Conner Williams?

Not going to let this get out of control, I am happy we got Guice and were able to manage a future T in Geron Christian as well, but we had a chance to upgrade the LG and didn't.

Well - you can't fill every need every offseason. I'm not blaming the FO for the fact that we're vulnerable beyond the OL starters. But cutting guys who at least know the offense - they'd better have some serious talent in the works to replace them. If you expect to find quality backups on the waiver wires a week before the season starts, that's a pretty shaky plan.

Slowest cut-down day I can remember. The FO must have a ton of lines in the water.

Quick has been cut. Good news for Cam Sims and Trey Quinn I would think.
