Random Commanders Thoughts

Seriously, what the hell? What is it about this team that makes it stink SO bad on MNF?

I'm pretty sure out SNF record sucks too. And TNF.
And it's mainly home games on prime-time, they suck. WTF is up with that ?
What are they, so nervous about playing bad in front of their fans, they mess up ?
Kind of like a guy gets nervous around a pretty girl he likes, and not around girls he doesn't like ?

The good news is that we are not that bad the rest of the time, so hopefully our performance on Monday night was just a Monday Night Thing, and not something to expect the rest of the season. Hopefully.

I totally agree! WTH? It seems like every Prime time national stage this team gets onto, they screw the pooch and leave me to have to be embarrassed the next day because EVERYONE saw the shit show.

I think it's strategery. We let the world and other teams see us get abused on national TV, see, so that when they actually play us NOT on national TV, they come in all cocky and we ambush their asses.

What we have to ask ourselves is, are they the type of team that would see that gambit for what it is and would come in more motivated? Or are they the type of team that would see that gambit, but then come in pretending to be unmotivated, and then turn it on later?

Either way, we have to be careful not to fall trap to one of the classic blunders.

Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line.

He's not NFL material. He might bounce around a bit off and on rosters but into his second year since coming out there seems to be little sincere interest in him.

As Cooley would say 'he's just a guy'.

When you have trouble beating out Josh LeRibeus you aren't long for the NFL.

So I clearly cannot trust the dl in front of me, you would have known I'm not a great fool so I clearly cannot trust the dl in front of you.....

Ouch.

Washington is now 2-15 in “Monday Night Football” games at home since FedEx Field opened in 1997.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...t-football-beat-goes-on-for-redskins-at-home/

All-time, our MNF record is 27-29

So basically, pre-snyder we are 25-14. Sounds about right.

No, SFTW, that is incorrect.
Notice the 2-15 MNF record during the Snyder era is only home games, while the overall MNF record of 27-29 is all games, home and away - or at least, it's worded that way. So, of course, you're not taking into account our away games during the Snyder era.

Um.....Who?

both McD5 AND Burgundy Burner ?

nfl,com has become so trashy, first with all the facebook comments on articles, and now with the chat-room-type live tweets from random fans throughout the game.
I go to nfl.com to get professional facts and analysis, not random knee-jerk comments from people who know little about the game

I remember when the Redskins were along with the Raiders the BEST Monday Night Football team under George Allen.

He had this team ready to play when the lights came on and the national spotlight was there.

Some of the most memorable non-Super Bowl memories I have of the Redskins when I was a young kid were when Allen and the Redskins would beat the Cowboys on MNF.

Unfortunately, no matter who the coach is now or who the players are the Redskins can never can seem to defend the home field anymore.

Where teams used to look intimidated coming into RFK Stadium, now they come into Fedex Field acting loose and confident like it is a home game for them.

From where I sit, opposition teams no longer fear playing away against the 'Skins because they know there will be a lot of fans there supporting them. As the 'Skins have been a bad team for many years, and people don't want to lose their ticket allowance, they still buy tickets then on-sell them to supporters of the opposition team. It's a fact of life this happens, and you'll never stop it happening until we start winning on a consistent basis. One way of preventing tickets being on-sold is to employ someone who does nothing but scour the internet, looking for tickets being sold by disgruntled fans.

Someone should figure out a stat regarding the record of the teams who wore color-rush unis.
I bet the color rush teams were beaten an overwhelming number of times, due to having their confidence crushed by wearing such embarrassing threads.
