I wouldn't move Trent anywhere. He's an elite LT, I keep him right where he is and head into the season with a legit backup in Ty at either tackle spot. It's a long season.

This is a great point. Ty is a great luxury to have, especially in light of all the wars that Trent's body has been through. It also allows us to avoid absolutely having to use a first rounder in the future on another tackle. Now we can consider using that pick on an elite LB or FS down the road.

Non-event on Josh Norman. According to PFT, the commitment will be light and it's on his personal time. He wasn't required to notify the team.

Back to Ty for a minute......you keep him unless someone young and incredible becomes available that the team believes would allow us to contend for a SB right now.

Something like Ty plus a 6th rounder for Fletcher Cox would have to be seriously entertained.

One other thing that absolutely sucks has to be considered. Ty is already 30 years old. He turns 31 in October. Just our luck--he isn't 25.

So maybe moving him to a needy team in exchange for a young star has to be considered.

As a point of reference, the top three Tackles in the league are 28, 31 and 34 years old. So Ty may still have 3 or possibly even 4 top seasons left in him.

McCloughan is not going to trade anyone of value to the Eagles or Giants.

That doesn't help our competitive advantage for 2016 or beyond.

If Ty is one of the Redskins five best offensive linemen, I would try him at left guard. Yes he's 6'8 and convention says he is too tall to get the leverage necessary to play inside. But there are the exceptions like Ray Brown that was 6'6 and 325 and made the transition inside from tackle. He went on to make the pro bowl for the 49ers after leaving Washington.

I still don't see Spencer Long or Shawn Lauvao as being compelling starters for this team.

What's wrong with having depth at OT? I'm with Om. Keep things as they are and then we don't panic if something happens to one of our tackles. It's a good problem to have.

There's nothing wrong with it Henry. We're fortunate to have such a luxury on our O-line.

With that said, it would be nice if he could play Guard in the meantime as opposed to sitting on the bench.

BT is thinking correctly. He may be too tall for Guard, but we should give him some reps there as he backs up the Tackles.

The only reason you would consider trading him is if that move would allow us to contend for a SB. Von Miller, even Fletcher Cox types would have to be considered if the opportunity came up.

What are everyone's thoughts on the Normal deal with FOX?

For me, I don't see it as a big deal at all. If he isn't able to focus on the game because he has a few minute convo on FOX every week, then he isn't the CB we all thought he was. I guess people think he should be more focused on his job. But I'd like to ask those people if they only discuss work at work and if they ever take any personal calls/emails/texts throughout the day or if they surf the internet.

Not a fan of him signing a Fox deal while the season is going on. Then again, when else would he do it?

As for trading Ty? No one on our team should be off the trade block if the price is right, not even Josh Norman...if the price is right.

If you can get something we absolutely need now for Ty, like a high quality DL...you pull the trigger.

The internet is so limited in being able to convey thoughts at times. Or maybe it's my inability to express them while working at the same time.

I don't expect the Broncos to trade Von Miller. However, if their starting LT goes down to injury, and they want to protect their new QB, then they would be in a vulnerable position.

Philly is in that exact position right now. And of course, every player is up for trade if the deal is too good to pass up. That's all I mean.

Fletcher Cox or Von Miller plus Josh Norman, Fuller, Preston Smith and Breeland might equal an immediate trip the NFC title game.

The Washington Redskins defensive line lacks a sure-fire Pro Bowler, but what they like is their depth. And part of the reason is veteran lineman Ziggy Hood.

He was signed shortly after the season ended and he’s coming off some tough seasons. But Hood, a former first-round pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2009, has been a pleasant surprise for Washington in camp. That was evident again Tuesday, when he continued to look sharp during one-on-one work, driving into guard Spencer Long’s pads and moving him back and easily getting around center Austin Reiter. The latter will have a tough time making the roster, but Long is someone who could end up starting.

Ziggy Hood continues to 'jump out' for Washington Redskins - Washington Redskins Blog- ESPN

I am glad to see our "depth" is solid, especially someone McGloughan brought in off the street. However, the lack of a star, our "rotation", was the problem we had last year. Aaron Rodgers exposed a defense that got progressively better as the season wore on, but with "rotational" players. Depth is good, but if we're going to rely on the rotation like we did much of last year, any team with a QB who can maintain tempo and not substitute players in and out, will wear that defense down. I suspect the improvement in our secondary will compensate for that some, maybe a lot, but I am still concerned with the way we were exposed in the playoffs.

To keep it in perspective, Joe and DeSean have not even been through one single complete TC together.
DJax was hurt in last year's TC (Joe's first with the team), and this year's has only just begun, so how much experience is he really drawing on ?

Quick story....I left Springfield, Va and went to college at FSU. The first game I ever saw was a guy named Deion Sanders covering Michael Irvin. In college!

Josh Norman will accelerate the development of all our WRs. Not just the starters.

Forget Desean, Pierre and Reed for a moment. How about Norman covering Ross, Crowder, Grant and Doctson for a week each at a time?

It's truly huge. We'll find out what these guys are made of quickly.

Imagine trying to get open all week against Norman and Breeland. Then Sunday comes.

The practices seem like games and the games seem like practices.

He'll help out our offense as much as he helps out our defense.
