It's one thing for a 30 year old vet to get waived, get healthy and be more productive on his next club.

Then he got moved to Philly, played in a system that he didn't fit and looked completely pedestrian.

You see, Tattoo. DeSean believes in concentrating on his own individual offseason workouts, as opposed to the team OTA's.
DeSean believes in preparing for Training Camp, just in his own unique way : by himself, and practicing his vertical flying abilities.
In fact, he's so obsessed with getting ready for Training Camp, that he even keeps track of the countdown days left to go, on his own jersey.

Late to the party, but I'm fine with no deal for Kirk. This is an instance where neither side was really in a rush to reach and agreement.

For the Skins, you get another year of seeing if Kirk's great run to end 2015 was a fluke or the start of a new normal for him. If he pays off, you got the 2016 season at a discount. If he reverts back to pre-2015 Kirk, then it's not harm and you can move without too much of an investment.

For Cousins, if he truly believes in himself, why take less than what you think you're worth? He should be super motivated this season to show everyone that he is the real deal and deserves a big deal.

To me, Cousins is assuming all the risk here. If Cousins plays like he did last season, the Skins will reward him and probably not have to pay anymore next offseason than they would have this offseason. If Cousins falters, his chance at a big payday may be done.

Didn't see a Gruden Files Year 2.6 laying about so I'll plop this one here.

The Maturation of Redskins Head Coach Jay Gruden - Hogs Haven

Now, getting back to Gruden...It's tough to measure a coach on just two years in a brand new role, on a team that was dysfunctional when he took it over. What we can do, is look back upon his previous coaching career, taking into account some measurable metrics, to see how he has matured in his various roles.

I think Gruden is an excellent offensive coach, and when given talent(and not always top-notch mind you)he's succeeded. He became the OC of the Bengals(his first significant NFL coaching role)in Andy Dalton's rookie season of 2011. Now, to measure a successful offense, I always look a a number of different factors, but to me, Points Per Game holds the highest mark(because it's all about putting points on the boards in the NFL).
