Random Commanders Thoughts

They say a picture is worth 1,000 words. In this case, let's hope it's worth 10,000 yards.

As long as that pic isn't out-of-bounds... ;)

Here's an interesting comment from Joe Barry:

#Redskins DC Joe Barry: The need for a traditional nose tackle "is virtually extinct." Needed only 15 to 20 snaps a game now.

Yeah...had the same thought Pete. I think the best thing that could happen would be for Bradford to remain starter and struggle for a couple more seasons.

I don't find it glorious at all actually. The last thing I want is the #2 pick in the draft to actually get his shit together fast, and displace a dysfunctional QB on a rival team. The faster Wentz develops, the faster Philly becomes competitive again. Lets go Sam ! :)

I'm with you on team Bradford. I just hope to see a complete circus in Philly this year. Including a huge QB controversy, the pointing of fingers, pissed off WRs and some classic meltdown EDP videos.

Somebody grab me, I'm dizzy from the spin.
You're probably right about the spin thing but we do have some big boys in camp who fit the mold but not necessarily the talent level.

A dominant nose tackle is typically hard to find, we thought we had a decent one last season yet the run stop was 'off', prior seasons we had reasonable run stop defense without a true nose. Guess there is more to it than just being 'big and strong'

The same rationale has been used for the fullback, Gibbs installed the H back and had a pretty good run game going.

Don't know about the grabbin' part but you can try taking a seat and putting your head between your legs..... that'll help with the light head.

This sounds promising. Two John Keim videos.

In the first, he mentions the development of Paea.

The second is even better, talking about the three players that stood out most during Wednesday's OTAs.

D Hall, Fuller and Preston Smith. He even mentions one play where Preston Smith covered Jordan Reed all the way down the field.

Yes God. Please let this continue. lol

I haven't seen it discussed anywhere yet, but am I the only one that thinks Scot is building our own "Legion of Boom" here?

Josh Norman on one side. Breeland on the other. Will Fuller destroying dreams in the slot. And Cravens creating havoc all over the field? D Hall was also violent last year.

It seems pretty clear what he's trying to do.

1. Absolutely stop opposing teams from throwing the ball against us.

2. With our WRs, TEs, and RBs--making sure we can throw the ball against anyone.

It's hard not to be bullish on the secondary at this point, on paper anyway. I think the bigger key to their success though--and the defense and team overall--will be whether or not we can finally get over the pass-rush hump. Galette, P. Smith, Kerrigan--an whoever emerges on the DL in terms of pushing the pocket--will need to produce. We haven't seriously rushed the passer here in a very long time; if we can make real strides in that area this year, I think the D has a chance to make a quantum leap. Particularly if the offense continues to progress with and around Kirk.

2-4 wins, huh.

Well, at least there wont be a lot of pressure on us.

I wonder why Week 17 isnt on there. I assume the NFL forbade Vegas from posting that game because they didnt want anyone to see the Redskins actually favored over the Giants? :)

Ok, I laughed. :)

Umm...Cleveland is a 7.5 favorite in our house, but Green Bay is only a 2.5 favorite?

I think the guy is mistaken.

might want to check the number again :)

I guess I am missing something...there is a -7.5 number next to the Browns and a -2.5 number next to Green Bay. At the bottom of the list, the guys suggests the Redskins are favored to win 2...what am I missing?

Edit: I swear my eyes are playing tricks on me...I thought it read the Browns were favored by 7.5.
