We now have an absolutely sick group of receivers.

Desean, Garcon, Reed, Doctson and Crowder.

Good luck stopping that.
 
We have our AJ Green, Larry Fitzgerald type of WR who catches everything in sight, climbs the ladder and wins every jump ball. I want defense, but we just took a great WR.
 
Gruden went on to praise other elements of Doctson’s game.

“His big-play ability, I think he’s the most polished receiver of the [2016 draft]. I think he’s got the best hands of anybody. [Wide receivers coach Ike Hilliard] graded him out very, very high. Our scouts had him graded out very high. Scot loves him. … He’s just a solid, all-around football player with great body control, and you can’t coach that. His body can twist all different directions.”
 
Love, love, love the Doctson pick. The Skins needed a WR with size so badly and we finally get one! Seen by a good chunk of the draft experts as the top WR in the draft. Allows them to move on from Garcon and Roberts, IMO now. Which frees up money to extend our current group of guys that need extensions. Smart move and there's still plenty of defensive talent available in the 2nd. Well done Scot!
 
Roberts leaving is fine. I still think it would be fool hearty to get rid of Garcon, or Jackson, this season. Especially for a rookie who has to learn the NFL, and a new system, with new techniques to fine tune.
I think it would hurt Kirk too.

I hope this kid turns out to be our next Art Monk. But I think it would be better for him to have some good veteran leadership in his first year in the league.
 
Agree completely with Ax. Not sure why so many seem so ready to get rid of Garcon. Hang onto the guy for another season at least and let him teach the rook the ropes. Rookie WRs rarely come in and light the world on fire, but if Garcon isn't around, the kid will have a lot of pressure to do so, in order to keep DJax from being triple covered.

I have no problem moving on from Roberts.
 
This pick was for now and the future. Everyone knows Roberts is gone. Plus, with needing to sign Cousins and Reed, the chances of Garcon and Jackson being back next year are slim.

Now we have the tall WR for the redzone we've needed for years.

I'm not in any hurry to get rid of Garcon. I like Garcon and the toughness he brings to the WR position. I just wouldn't be shocked if they decided to move on from him. Definitely agree though that Roberts' time here has come to an end. He really has no role on the team anymore.

Makes sense. I think we hang on to Pierre for one more year, just to get the rookie started off on the right foot. I will be surprised if he is on the team for the 2017 season though.
 
Welp, I was really hoping we'd go DT in the first round, but I can only assume McLovin is going straight-up BPA, which is not the worst thing in the world to do ... so long as we actually hit on our picks. McLovin has a long history of hitting his picks, so I guess I trust him.

Basically, I guess I just agree with Ax. Hopefully it won't matter when we take what.

You know there's 6 more rounds, right? And what OL were we taking at #21? Tackles seem set. Guard seems to be good with Lavauo healthy this year. Would have loved to grab Ryan Kelly, but he came off the board before our pick.

And those DL you speak of that would help, they're all still available. And you don't think the defense improves with Gallette being healthy and the addition of Norman? Not saying we shouldn't address the defense at all, but those 2 guys will certainly help.
 
Leading up to this draft all we've heard was how deep the talent is on DL, we had the chance to solidify a future need with a high quality pick from a pool of talent that was touted as being fairly shallow early....why not.

Is he a Dez or Odell, we don't know yet but if he pans out to be one ....let the games begin.

Let's let the rest of the draft play out before evaluating it's potential effect and how it fits into one's own 'vision' of how things should be done.

I'm not sure if I have ever seen you support any move that this team has made in recently years. That isnt to say yesteryear likely is a good reason for it, but it just feels overly chicken little to me.
