dude.....the odds are pretty good he was coached by his agent to say something like that. create leverage and then see where it goes. all part of the negotiating process. it's his big payoff moment. I wouldn't stress. this has a logic all its own.

Chris Baker needs some help on the DL.

Terrance Knighton started strong but again played limited reps over the course of the year due to his fitness. He needs to shed 20-25 pounds to become a more consistent performer that can contribute more than 18-25 snaps a game.

If he wants a bigger deal with guaranteed money he needs to have a greater impact.

The team paid a lot of money to Paea and he did little in 2015. He never got comfortable here and Barry didn't seem to have any confidence in him either.

Ricky Jean Francois and Kedric Golston are good pluggers and second unit 'energy' guys to spell the starters for depth, but we need more impact from the starting group.

We didn't draft any DL in 2015, I expect that to change in 2016.

I think we'll hit DL hard in the draft. Wouldn't be shocked if we took one in the 1st. I think Hatcher and Golston will probably be gone next year. We'll definitely need to bring back Knighton. He seemed to be a really good fit here. So that leaves Knighton, Baker, Jean-Francois, Paea, and Kearse. Definitely need to add more depth there in the offseason

I would not give Knighton a multi-year deal with guarantees in the range of what he was looking for last offseason.

We gave him a one year deal for $4M and to be honest McCloughan was right in wanting to see Act II of this play after his departure from Denver.

Knighton simply won't get in good enough shape to be able to stay on the field for enough plays to be a consistent impact performer.

When you look at what other 'big' guys did in their primes from Haloti Ngata in Baltimore to Vince Wilfork in New England inside at NT/DT, what you see from Knighton leaves you wanting 'more' from him.

Especially, if we are talking about giving the soon to be 29 year old Knighton significant up front $$.

considering that he has had head issues all season I would give him a little more slack than what you are. He is also playing next to his best friend and that has helped him out.

ive heard you talk about "we need a true NT up front" too much to just believe you would let Pot Roast walk because you don't think he was in good enough shape.

Mike, the guy was playing 16-20 snaps a game during stretches of the season.

You can't pay a guy that comes in for those few plays a mega-deal extension, not with Cousins, Reed and others needing new deals as well.

but his stats pretty much line up the same as they did in 2012. we know what we are getting with him and hes doing what hes paid to do as a NT. also, nobody gets a mega-extension any more with the Redskins. The days of Haynesworthless are long past.

can't believe I am abt to post this: Gruden can overcome and prosper if he listens to McL. McL is building the team to his vision...not the other way around. after two years...it strikes me that Gruden is the talented handyman....McL is the architect.

That's some high praise from you Al. I think it's probably a bit more collaborative than that. I expect the biggest influence McL will have on the filed, aside from talent acquisition, is a bruising running game. But this is as it should be. The GM should set the vision and get the coach to do it and the players to do it with. If McL thinks Gruden can get it done that way, it will be good for all. If not, friction will build and McL will have to get his guy. I think Grudens shown a willingness for growth and it's gonna come. He seemed to identify and compensate for weak areas this year, and there's not reason to think he won't evaluate and do the same again. Gonna be fun as we get more talent.

No doubt, just thought it was an amusing comment for a shitty football week. Last night showed us a few things, most importantly from my pov is we just don't have the horses yet, especially on the lines. I too have complete faith in Mcluvs drafting us a contender year in and out along with Jay guiding them.

He was visible distraught like I have never seen him. Who was there to console him? I think Trent Williams is easily my favorite player on this team. Scot McCloughan is the kind of GM that will help any coach get the most out of his players. Once again, he stayed in this position to acknowledge every player.

CSN had a similar video of McCloughan hugging Chris Baker who was also distraught. It really is a great sign to see him down there celebrating when they win and consoling guys when they lose.

Did anyone that went to the game not get a towel like I did? I got in there around 4:15 and walked by 3 different gates and not one had any towels left. I did see a bunch of people, however, with 3 and 4 towels a piece. Seems like they were allowing people to grab as many as they wanted. Not many people in my section had them.

Yeah, they were gone by the time we headed in a little after 4. My guess is they know how many seats there are in FedEx and had at least that many towels made, which means either they didn't hand out just one at a time, or some fans went around grabbing extras.

Less than half the people in our section had them.
