Random Commanders Thoughts

Why change a winning formula? :D

That concern also applies to our center position this weekend. It's a much tougher call that it appears on the surface.

Risk that Licht is healthy enough and not too rusty? Or stick with the guy that may have inadvertently allowed Cousins to shine?

We've been on a big roll with the current lineup.

LeRibeus is bad. Licht is above average. I get that he's been out an extended period. But he's not the QB, he's a center. It's a no-brainier. You're over-thinking it :)

Licht is better in the run game. There's no doubt about it. But we don't have two or three weeks to get him back in game shape. It's win or go home.

In an unintended way, John Belushi may have made Cousins a better QB by forcing him to get rid of the ball quickly. It may have also forced us as a team to throw the ball more and to become a more dangerous passing team. We've won the last four games in pretty convincing fashion.

It may come down to run with Licht or pass with Belushi in the minds of the coaches.

I suspect that we'll see Licht.....but won't be shocked if they go the other direction.

McD5,

When a player is put on IR-Designated to return, they have to return for practice for a couple of weeks before they are eligible to return.

Stieger has been practicing.

that the injury is deemed to keep this player unable to practice or play football for an estimated six weeks, the player may be allowed to practice after Week 6, and be activated to play after Week 8.

Count yourself lucky, my wife is a Cowboys fan

Of course she is lying low this week, given the backup qb situation in Dallas right now.

This game?

To me it all comes down to stopping the Packers running game.

With the offensive line suffering significant injury issues and no real deep threat to scare a defense, Green Bay IMO is going to go back to a lower-risk strategy of running Eddie Lacey between the tackles and using James Starks as a receiver out of the backfield.

While the Redskins have faced a lot of teams trying to throw over the top on them the past 4-6 weeks with the secondary in flux, it has partially covered up the issues we have had with the run game going back to mid-season.

McCarthy and Co. won't miss that and will use that to try and afford Rodgers some time to make those 3-4 downfield plays off script that can turn into points.

The key is really in our front seven.

If we can do a credible job on first and second down against the run and cover Starks and Cobb on the short and intermediate routes in the passing game, we should win this game by 10-14 points.

If not, it could be a long day and a 35-31 type shootout with the outcome held in the balance for the last 3 or 4 minutes of the game.

Grounds for divorce!!!!!!!! :)

The runway is now clear for take off!

Kansas City and Seattle are clearly better teams than Houston and Minnesota.

So, there is no surprise or 'luck' that the home teams are having problems in these games.

The Redskins/Packers game is perhaps the most competitive of the 4 games on paper.

Unlike Houston and Cincinnati (without Andy Dalton) last night the Redskins have better than a 'punchers' chance to win this game as the home team.

Got the ribs on the smoker, wife made a big batch of shrimp pasta. Finish it off with some corn on the cob. Now time to get the fire stoked.

we're going to win this one handily. it's a beautiful day, I shot in the low 80s this morning, Cousins will be in a groove.

headed for a party - enjoy game, food and liquid refreshments.
