PRO FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME SEMIFINALIST JOE JACOBY
TO SERVE AS HONORARY CAPTAIN FOR NFC WILD CARD ROUND

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The Washington Redskins announced today that former tackle Joe Jacoby will serve as the team’s honorary captain when the Redskins face the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Wild Card Round this Sunday.

Jacoby, a three-time Super Bowl champion, was named in November as one of 25 semifinalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2016. He was selected from an original list of 108 modern-era nominees. Tonight, Jacoby can become one of 15 finalists for the class, a list that will be revealed during a one-hour “Gold Jacket Finalists” special on NFL Network at 8 p.m.

Jacoby’s honorary captainship on Sunday will come as part of pregame proceedings that will include a performance of “The Star-Spangled Banner” by Sgt. Vicki Golding of the United States Army, a Prince George's County Police Department color guard and a flyover provided by the United States Air Force.

Fans are once again encouraged to arrive early and be in their seats by 4:15 p.m. to enjoy the pregame ceremonies. All stadium gates open at 2 p.m.

Jake has to make it into the HoF this year. If he doens't I'm concerned about his future prospects... man was a legit, dominant LT for a long time.

And no... he wasn't even playing when Theeeeesman got hurt.

Nick

And played with a hearing impediment no less, which isn't the easiest for a down linemen.

He was Master of his domain.

But he couldn't pass the Festivus trials...

what's a Jacoby?

JACOBY ~

A PERSON OR THING THAT EVERYONE WANTS TO BE LIKE. SOMEONE OR SOMETHING THAT MAKES PEOPLE LAUGH. SOMETHING THAT EVERYONE MUST HAVE AT LEAST ONE OF. ALMOST LIKE A DRUG THAT MAKES YOU FEELS GOOD. THE WAY COOL HOST ON MTV! A REALLY HOT GUY THAT ALL THE GIRLS GOT TO GET WITH.

Seriously - it's in the urban dictionary...

I am still waiting for Len Hauss, an 8 time pro bowl selection at center for the Redskins in the 1960's and 1970's to get consideration for the HOF.

He was an integral part of what was perhaps the NFL's most prolific passing offense in the 1960's and helped Larry Brown lead the NFL in rushing in 1972.
