Random Commanders Thoughts

I dunno ... bad teams don't necessarily GET leads like Tampa had either ... or for that matter, make up historic deficits. :)

All that said, to me this Sunday is all about whether the wheels come off our pass defense. I think we can move the ball against them, but it may not matter if Brady plays catch with Gronk & Co. from the first possession and we're down 24-0 in the first half again. I'd bet the farm we won't be making up that kind of deficit this week.

We're entering Murderer's Row.

Our next three opponents have a combined record of 21-8. Philly's next three games are the exact opposite.

I expect us to win one of these next three. If we can win two? That would signal that we are way ahead of schedule.

We did beat a bad team. If you want to play that game, the Jets crushed us and just got beaten by the Raiders yesterday.

Teams don't travel well to Oakland, they lost their starting QB, and the Raiders appear to have a decent young team brewing. I wouldn't necessarily use "Bad Team" to describe the Jets.

El...he's not! I read Goal's post to be speaking to Tampa only.

Agree with you that Oakland may finally have something brewing. And that as long as the jets have that defense - they are a capable QB away from being a very good team.

OK, I'm sorry I mentioned it. Personally, I think it's a fools errand to justify one team by looking at who they beat and who they played well against the following week or the week before, because you just never know in the NFL. Any given Sunday is a saying for a reason.

Taken out over the entire season, the Bucs do not look like a good football team to me. They may be in a couple of years, and they may not be, a lot depends on Jameis' development.

Regardless, in my opinion, saying that because the Bucs beat the Falcons we should feel better about our win against the Bucs is silly. To me, anyway. I mean, the Falcons beat us, we beat the Bucs, and the Bucs beat the Falcons. WTF does that do for you except put you in a never-ending circular argument.

Please do not involve me in your circle talk. Not into that! :sour:

And you're right, we beat teams and teams beat us, it's difficult to see who will end up pulling away from the pack midway through the season. I thought and still think, Atlanta is a better team than a couple of their showings, I also think Tampa is not as good as McD5 suggests. But you can get an idea of who will end pushing for the paloffs...still time for surprises. I mean, do we really think Miami is good? We lost to them in spite of a great run game for us.

I mean seriously, who'da thunk Aaron Rodgers would only throw for 77 yards last night? That was carzy!

I think if you focus in on one game you can end up looking really stupid. You can make any argument you want out of one game at a time. Lies, damned lies, and analysis based on one single NFL game. :)

Denver's D is legit, btw. I am honestly excited to see what they can do against the Pats in a few weeks.

According to your logic, if we beat the patriots, then we are not really any good. yeah right, whatever.

Geez Goal, are people stupid or are they fools? Make up your mind :)

I'm sorry, you appeared to have missed my point. Saying that we beat a good team in Tampa Bay because they beat a good team in Atlanta is silly, imo. You can easily construct any argument for or against your team based on these criteria.

If we beat the Pats this Sunday, it will mean we beat a very good team, and it will be something to celebrate.

It really is 'any given Sunday' in most games. You can't gauge a team's quality by who the teams they beat or Iost to beat or lost to. I agree with Goal.

First hes gonna shit! then he gonna kill us!!

It's possible we could beat NE this weekend, but not probable. A lot has to do when you play someone as much as who.

As an example, Atlanta isn't the same red hot team that started the season. Nor is New Orleans the losers from start of the season.

This Sunday I will pull for my Redskins like every game. Difference is my expectations for this week is low to medium.

Always pulling for that improbable win............... Such is the life for us Redskins fans!

If we are within ten at the start of the 4th quarter, I will consider it a win.
