As ST said Breeland played well. Beckham made a nice play on the ball and it was a good throw. Sometimes good offense beats good defense.

Kirk's early shitty play had a cumulative effect. It required changes in playcalling and mindset because we had to catch up. THAT didn't help the D either.

The D didn't play all that great but a whole lot of that can be traced back to the shitheap performance the O put up.

Let's don't bother mentioning the 10 play drive and 13 play drive for FG's and the 12 play drive for a TD that Cousins had either.

The main reason we lost was because of defense. We can't cover anyone and get consistent pressure. Tom Brady is going to put up as many points as he wants or until they call the game later this year. I'll bet anyone right now he puts at least 40 points up. Any takers?

nobody is saying that the defense didn't have their faults either, but Cousins had as much to do with it as anyone did. Cousin's rebounded but it was also against prevent defense in the 4th quarter. The TD Breeland gave up to Beckham, he was a half a step off, the 2nd one he gave up... he literally had perfect coverage and the ball bounced the wrong way. That same defense also held the Giants to 15 1st half points while we only scored 6.... It was a team fail, none of the units played well enough.

Keep in mind, the guy was basically coming in cold after not playing. All things considered, he played pretty well. I agree with the rest of your post.

It absolutely WAS a team failure. Cousins had a tough night. But so did pretty much everyone on the squad save the kicker. We got zero breaks from the officials and fell behind early. You know when you get the 2nd soul-crushing fumble out of the endzone on a certain score in 2 visits to NY that it is not your night.

My original point was i think it's ridiculous how harshly he's getting judged after 1 game especially after coming off 2 good games. You could point a lot of fingers for that loss. I mean there is people who have already written him off(it's like they were just waiting for an excuse to do so) because of Thursday night when there was plenty of blame to go around. He had no help at all from the running game and had to throw 50 times. I mean come on...

I agree on Breeland. The first TD he was right there, but Beckham just snatched the ball. The second one, he actually made the play. It's just the ball bounced the Giants way.

As for Kirk, he had a bad game. He has some things he can work on over the next several days. Let's hope he can bounce back next week.

The issue I have is that it was one game. I said it before. He has played 3 games in 2015. He had a good/decent performance in Game 1, a great performance in Game 2, and a horrific one on Thursday. Those are the facts. So taking the horrific performance and extrapolating out that this defines him, his past, his present, and his future, definitively - I think that sucks. If he plays like that for the majority of this season, then and only then is it fair to gut the guy. And why anyone tries to drag Griffin into the conversation, that's just about other things, not about Cousins.

Kirk Cousins has earned his current reputation as an interception machine. Obviously, I think "Pick" is brilliant.
I'll be the first one to start calling him "Clutch", if he ever earns it.

I have my doubts, but I'm pulling for the guy 100%. As I've done for every Redskins player in history, not named Peion Sanders. And I didn't root against him either. Just not, for him.

I can't believe the nonsense i'm reading about Cousins in this thread. He didn't lose the game. Breeland got burnt for 2 TD's, Jones fumbled 7 points away and the blocked punt for a safety makes 23 points. If you watch the game again the only good thing was the Ross return and Cousins.

Yea, he threw 2 ints and and one of them cost us 7 points and the other was complete luck. He under threw Reed for a TD and missed a couple other throws. He could have done more to win, but he didn't lose the game.

The reason we lost was because their offense had their way with our defense and we got no pressure what so ever on Eli.

ummm....not quite. our offense was inept as well. Cousins lose it? don't know. best I can advise is that he didn't win it.

boone...officials had nothing to do with blocked punts...underthrown passes.......inability to adjust....lack of focus....fumbles......a better QB on the opposing team....etc...etc.

just trying to apply a standard consistently.

perhaps the defense should gameplan under the assumption the QB will play with one armed tied behind his back....metaphorically speaking, of course.

I agree totally. I guess it's been so long since we've seen competent qb play that average at best performances start to look pretty good.

You guys are the first to point out that 300+ yard games don't necessarily reflect QB excellence. But you have no problem dropping 200 yards as proof a QB sucks.

I'm not a Cousins homer. But he played plenty well enough for us to win game 1 - plenty well enough. The defense and ST units lost us that game. Funny how no one's starting threads about that? And he was damn near perfect (not 'good' or 'okay') in the Rams game.

He had a bad game Thursday. No one's disputing that. But don't crap all over his first 2 games and tell me 'I support Cousins'.

I'm allowed to critique him along with everyone else honestly. That's all I'm doing. I'm not saying he sucks, but if I want to point out where he's going bad I'm going to.

He throws a lot of picks, he throws a weak deep ball, and he makes bad decisions at times.

He also is under center and I support him while he's there like I have every other player who laces them up for us

Hey - I was only 12 rows away for the entire game - but what the **** do I know? And he crapped the bed against the Giants, which certainly doesn't put him in special company when it comes to Redskins QBs.
