No. Scot was here too.
It's a risk they deemed acceptable. I'm fine with that.

Well, I certainly haven't made up my mind as to what is going to happen.
I have made up my mind, that until I see what transpires early in the regular season, I will not close the book on Robert. But I've also made up my mind that about 4 games is all I'll need, at the most, to make a decision.
I've made up my mind that I don't give a damn what any reporter says. I'll trust what I see, or think I see, completely.
I've made up my mind that Robert is not currently Gruden's favorite QB. But I completely dismiss there is a conscious effort on his part to aid in his failure.

Actually, I said 4, at most. Means it might not take 4 to see.Gotcha. I thought you had said more than 4 games, but whatever, I'll go with your 4.
Too generic. How, and why, did we get to 2-2? And yes, it absolutely matters. Also, however plausible it might be, there no way anybody can tell how many wins will get a team into the playoffs. And, since we haven't seen THIS team yet, to determine whether or not they're capable of it.Here's the rub. We start out 2-2. sorta feels good, you think? But dig deeper. Now you must go 8-4 the remaining 12 games to think of the playoffs. Highly unlikely if not impossible for this team. In other words, 4 games may just be fool's gold.
"For few it will be grief, for the law, a relief, but it's death for Bonnie & Clyde".If it happens, it happens.for me, I don't think Robert will survive 4 games, maybe not even two. I have nightmares of Suh crushing him after the play is over while Robert is lying on the ground. Ooops, yellow flag for Suh, penalty for the Dolphins, fine for Suh, and the game goes on without Robert.
That's about all any of us can do, brother.I'll just follow along like I always do. Wait until 7 losses before proclaiming we are done even if I know we are done by week 4.
No doubt... it's a lose lose situation. Both parties (Gruden and Griffin) were put in a spot that there's essentially no 'correct' answer for. Just opinions on what we each think is / would have been the right thing to do. The only way ANY of this ends up positive for ANYONE is if Griffin some how turns all this around and is a successful QB in a Redskins jersey. Other then that there will always be backlash and scrutiny about every move made, about either one taking any sort of a stance on it, and against anyone who has an opinion about it.
we already know Gruden was a BIG FAIL when he passed that he could "coach em up". we all know that conversation had to take place before Gruden was signed. this is one reason so many are pissed with how quickly he bailed last season. bait and switch as it were.
Do we KNOW that? It can be assumed, but my gut tells me there's only 3 people that know the truth about WHAT was said in the interview, the rest is assumption and speculation. I've never heard Snyder, Allen, OR Gruden come out and say "Gruden is here to fix Griffin." We all just kind of assumed it all along.
The bait and switch may have been done on Snyder's side. In the interview he tells Gruden that he wants Gruden to come in and work with Griffin, but if Gruden deems it necessary, he's got control to bench him. Then it happens and Snyder corners him AFTER the fact. Again... this COULD have been how it went down.
We also don't know what went down behind closed doors. He stood up and benched Griffin this year, but Scot (as was noted earlier) was here when we picked up Griffin's option. How do we know NOW that Scot and Gruden aren't the ones choosing to play him? Get as much tape on him as they can before March 1 in order to determine whether or not to release him?
I think there's a lot of speculation floating around about WHO is the one making the call... when we have nothing more then water cooler talk, and speculation driving those comments.
you're 100% right!
Gruden: "Nahhhh....I just want you to know: I've watched the film and RGIII lacks the pocket skillsets needed to be successful. Don't hire me if you expect me to fix it. Whoever told you I am a QB guru watched too many Dalton games. I wanna fix the Defense and Special Teams - that's where my real sweet spot lies!!!!"
Dan: "Yea....we know. Just fake it for a year. You can do that can't ya?"
HE DIDN'T FIX A GOD **** THING - THAT'S THE POINT. anything....not just the QB. he also gave up way quick...until counseled during the off-season to keep his yap shut and say the right things. we have a LOOOOOOOOOSER for a coach. He's not a leader. He's everybody's "friend."
That doesn't mean he Snyder didnt TELL him in the interview that he wanted him to work with Griffin, but it ultimately was up to him to make the choice, then went after him when he DID make the choice. My point was simply that we don't factually know what was said, or what was implied when he was hired.
it may look like a lose/lose but what we would definitely lose if he pulled him early was the talk of an injured QB, a coach who doesn't care, and all this hibbidy bibbidy that is scurrying around social media. If this same thing happens to Griffin on Saturday and we don't try to adjust with some quick screens, power runs, slants, etc....I am going to be pretty upset.
This is why the whole thing is just so freaking stupid to me and makes no sense. If Robert is injured and/or can't pass a physical next year, he can't be cut to save the $16m option. So not only are you out a QB, the cap is now clogged with $16m from someone who can't play. I don't hold a very high opinion of Gruden already, but if he's not aware of these things, he's even dumber than I've imagined.

There's an awful lot of folks who 'know' things that are unknowable here. And that's all I have to say about that.
