Would you like to look at making any rule changes to the Fantasy Leagues this year?

Currently a 40 yard TD is worth 8 pts for us, as it is 6 pts for the TD and 2 bonus points for it being a 40 Yd TD. There is also another 2 point bonus if it is an 80 yard TD. I don't know if there is a way to reduce their worth to cut down on vulturing, but it's something that could be looked into if desired.
 
I don't know if there is that much flexibility to breakdown the passing TD points by the method Neophyte mentioned for the Yahoo standard league. I think that is more for a PPR type with all kinds of options. Maybe a custom rule or something could be done but like I said, I just don't know.

The default value in a standard league for a passing TD is 4 points versus our 6 points and the bonus points are as Shi no Tenshi listed above. Four points flatten the curve a bit for QB's but if you are only playing 8 teams in a league it probably doesn't matter much. 10 or more teams the QB pool gets diluted pretty quickly using 6 points per passing TD. A QB rushing for a TD still gets 6 irregardless of what a passing TD gets.

Whether it's 4 or 6 points I think it mostly alters draft strategy. Six points puts a higher premium on QB's who pass a lot but don't run much. Four points lets the QB who runs more but doesn't throw as much get closer to those big guns in weekly points.

Anyway, however the rules shake out I don't care. The Mob Rules as far as that goes. I'll still have fun and that's why I play the game.

Over the next couple days I'll also post some polls about any sort of rule changes that I would like to vote on. These can be different between leagues, but I think it would be best to keep the same rules for all the leagues. Another thing that needs to be decided is how to crown an overall winner, as there are 3 groups now. If anybody has any ideas on how to decide who's the best at the end of the year, please speak up.

For those playing 2 or 3 teams for the first time, you are about to have your minds and emotions scrambled to a whole new level.

You'll have Megatron on one of your teams, and then he'll be playing against you in another league. You'll have no idea how well you want him to play lol.

Everybody, please let me know, via PM when is best for you for drafting. Please give me 3 times that work for you(and your respective timezones) if possible. I will do my best to accommodate everybody, but majority does win out. I will try for the weekend of the 5th and 6th of September, as that is after final cuts. Season starts on the 10th.

I will give a week to collate the info, and will notify everybody of final draft decision on Sunday evening. I reserve the right to shift players to different leagues if it creates a better group for drafting, since drafting is one of the more important parts of the game, I like to make sure everybody can make it that can.

As I've said before, I'll go with any rule changes the class votes for. Personally, I think they should all remain the same. Past winners won with them just fine. And luck, good or bad, cannot be removed from FF. It just can't. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. It ain't broke.
Just my opinion.

As to crowning a winner with 3 leagues.

The most likely scenario is, after I win both leagues I'm in, I should be able to use whichever team scores the most as my 1 Champion, to crush the soul of the unfortunate remaining bastard under my heel.

Should something freakish happen, (probably due to some BS rule change;) ) and I don't win both of my leagues, then all 3 league Champions would play against each other. top score wins.

Ties would be settled with pistols, at 20 paces.

That's what I get for not reading the rules more closely I guess. I had not idea about the bonuses for long TD's.
 
I'm not sure if this is the right place for this poser. Will 'Survivor' return this year? Quite possible that I have missed it somewhere along the line...

Wow - I had forgotten all about that :) Who set that up for us last season, I've completely forgotten? I would think we would want to bring it back, sure!

I did set that up, and will do it again this year for everyone interested.

Honestly, with testing the Pickem software, and then having many of us setting up multiple FF teams, I thought I should wait a few days to not cause any sensory overload lol.

Registration for Survivor will begin no later than Saturday, and maybe sooner. I'll put the thread up and hope we have a great turnout.

This year's contest may also include some prizes. I'll have it together shortly.

Shi, I'm available for any draft time.

On the voting, the only suggestion I would make is that QBs get at least 6 pts for touchdowns--like last year, or even more.

When they only get 4 pts, then everyone just loads RBs and it gets a little boring imho.
 
Are we stepping it up a notch this year?

Are we doing tattoo leagues? The last place finisher of each league has to get a 4 inch Justin Bieber tattoo? LOL

And if you come in last in two or more leagues.....Bieber on one arm, and Claude Van Damme dancing on the other?
