There is a steady drop in contract money for every pick. The higher you go, the more you make. That's all I'm saying. No doubt, it's peanuts compared to pre-rookie cap days. But these kids still benefit from even one spot higher.

It was supposedly "payback" for this bar fight, that happened earlier in the night.

EKU player Colton Scurry was roughed up in this bar fight below by 3 UK players, allegedly including UK QB Barker.

Scurry was beat up really bad. Multiple facial fractures from broken beer bottles
So, Scurry's teammate Graffee came to the EKU dorm later that night to exact revenge on Barker, where he was oddly hanging out in the dorm of a rival university
But clearly in the video, EKU's player, Scurry (ponytail), was the aggressor and instigator on the UK players.
These 2 college teams are scheduled to match up in October.
Should be a very interesting and intense match, to say the least

 
She did nothing wrong as far as I'm concerned. But I'm sure the other person was completely innocent and an angel.
 
I wouldn't say she did nothing wrong - she showed herself to be a petty, disgusting, arrogant person. But what that has to do with her job I don't quite get. She got caught being an ass on her own time. Big deal. Half the people working at ESPN have likely done things less than becoming outside of work. The embarrassment of having that put out there should've been punishment enough.

And yeah, that other person decided to 'out her' on social media (and may have even gotten paid to do it). That's not exactly pretty either.
 
I think the part where she said " I'm in the news business and will sue this place" indirectly drew her employer into this mess?

I've heard a couple folks mention this, but I don't quite follow the logic. If a news reporter were bashing or badmouthing her employer in public? I could see them holding her accountable, but there aren't rules in most areas of employment restricting one from being an asshole on your own time. I mean, this isn't Russia...at least not yet anyway :). I could see them talking to her about potentially embarrassing her employer by off hour activity, but a suspension? That's going pretty far.
 
I understand that Boone but in this age of Political Correctness, I can see how ESPN would overreact to that.

Not saying it's right, but I understand.

The lady behind the counter had to be biting her tongue big time....lol

To be honest, I'm glad they suspended her. Talking down to a person like that, acting like you're better than everyone else....? I've been the person she's talking to & it sucks to have someone berate you & take out there ugliness against you. She got what she deserved being suspended. I have absolutely no sympathy & would be behind ESPN if they decided to fire her over that. In fact, I hope they do. She has no business talking to anyone like that. AND she even knew that she was on camera....yeah, fire her dumb butt.

I understand your response - but that's an emotional reaction to her being an ass. It's human nature to want to see someone 'get what's coming to them' and she was certainly an ass there. But that doesn't change the fact that she was on her own time and ESPN really has no right to sanction someone because they did something embarrassing in their private life.

We've all done stupid things that don't define our entire being and for which we shouldn't be formally punished or fired for. There's a problem in our culture that we want to severely punish people who makes mistakes in public. People are human, shit happens, and keeping things in perspective is getting rarer and rarer.
 
A freaking toe truck driver jacked her truck at a valet spot from what I've heard.

We've all wanted to talk shit to a person being a dick. She just did it on camera.

That's the part where she lost me too. The old "I work in news, so that makes me great and you lesser" bit is so unattractive.

Then she continues with the whole trailer thing. Just a huge piece of trash.
 
Yeah..it sucks when people try to act like they're more than what they are. Especially tow truck drivers when they take your vehicle for no good reason.

I'm sure they were super cool about stealing her car and not giving it back.
 
I understand her being pissed. No one likes their car towed. I have no idea if they screwed her, or if she took up two spaces, etc because she's so important.

I'm just not a fan of putting people down due to finances. That's the part I don't like.

Bill Gates is worth $79 billion. Does that mean Britt is a poor piece of worthless trash?
 
People don't tend to think about what they say but instead of venom and hurting the intended object. I am sure the tow truck driver has heard worse and probably deserved as much whether this time or not.
 
She was a total ass, setting aside that we don't know what lead up to it or what was said off camera. But ESPN getting involved? I think that's ridiculous.
 
Everyone here has made good points. Maybe all parties involved are guilty of being asshats.

I understand why ESPN suspended her though. They want to appeal to everyone....even viewers that don't have college degrees, are lower income and may live in trailers. That's more than just a few people in the population.

Oh, and fat people too.

They had to at least slap her on the wrist, right? Just to save face with that demographic, remain PC etc.

I mean if we owned the tv station, I think we'd probably do the same just not to be crucified.

Not saying I agree with her suspension because I don't know the entire story......they may have been incredibly rude to her as Boone said.

But Disney owns ESPN. There's no way that Disney wants to risk pissing that many people off. I'm interested to see what else comes out in the next few days.
 
They had to since they suspended stephen a smiff for being a piece of shit.
