Stop saying you were the biggest fan in 2012. You were no bigger than the rest of us and are using it as an excuse to constantly rag the team.

The Eagles missed the playoffs. Even with picking up sproles and having such a "dynamic" team...they missed the playoffs. The Giants flat out sucked as well as us.

The rest..I'm not even going to entertain.

Mike, it probably isn't fair, but he is the one constant through the last 14 years of suckitude. We've had flashes of good teams, but overall, it's been pretty dreadful. The guy made his bed by acting like an asshole early on. It's hard to break a reputation, particularly one that was earned fairly. He was a horrible owner, and from all accounts, he seems to have gotten better. But the losing hasn't. Listen, if Dan Snyder wins a Super Bowl in DC, he'll be as lauded as Cooke is. Until then though, he's an easy target, fair or not.

Forbes would disagree with your assertion that Snyder is losing money.

From 2013 to 2014, team revenue jumped from $381mil, to $395mil.

But don't let facts cloud your, er......um......well........uh.........judgment?

This is all fair, and understandable.

The only correction I would make, would be to extend the "sucktitude" to include 7 years of pre-Snyder.

He didn't start it. And he certainly hasn't fixed it, yet.

thats better than any 39-41 while not a barn burning record it looks like a good rebuild was in the process and they were building a good team with decent talent

This is a silly point to keep making. Gruden was cornered, in a live Press Conference, and asked bluntly would you recommend retaining Haslett. What is he going to say, in that moment, when no final decisions have been made about one of his coaches and certainly no discussion with Haslett about his future has occurred? The idea that he's going to say 'You know, I wouldn't, because his defense here really sucks' - it's just not reasonable. Let's stop pointing to that as some 'Aha!' moment. Haslett is gone and that's the bottom line.

Gruden either has complete control over his coaches or he doesn't. Let's stop flipping back in forth to suit the moment. In other words, if Gruden is the stupid clown who hasn't fired Raheem Morris, he's also the guy who got rid of Jim Haslett.

So Rich McKay and Tony Dungy provided Barry with talent like Derrick Brooks and thus the linebackers group shined while he was there.

What I want to know is after failing in Detroit and putting in solid time in SD, how come Barry wasn't on anyone else's shortlist of candidates?

If he was that talented, energetic and creative you would think the Giants and other clubs would want to talk with him.
 
I admit Barry isn't one of those splashy names...I'm a bit underwhelmed myself but I wasn't at the interview... If I were interviewing for the job I would like to know what sort of talent I can expect from this years draft. That would be a very high priority when choosing one team or the other. So perhaps Barry ended up moving up on the list. I'm guessing Fangio was given a firmer commitment for defense talent priority in the draft. Face it there are a lot of holes on both sides of the ball for both teams but I believe they will go big on Defense in the draft.

There a chance the patsies or hags have an available assistant that could be our DB coach? Maybe one of the teams that was liquidated on that side like Buffalo have one?

True report or not, Raheem Morris is a shocking mediocrity. I never understood the hype surrounding this guy. He ran a loose ship in Tampa and got fired after several players were busted during the season for transgressions. It was like a wild west show down there.

Here, what has he really done? David Amerson had a decent rookie season at CB in 2013 but came in and had a mostly dreadful sophomore campaign with the club.

Players in this secondary, talented or not, didn't even LINE UP in the correct positions in 2014 based on the defense that was called.

So, forget whether these guys were making plays down the field. How about knowing your assignments to begin with and properly preparing to compete?

The ONE defensive coach that seems to have made a difference in 2014, Brian Baker, is the ONE guy from the holdover staff that the team is not keeping.........................I guess Ryan Kerrigan's opinion of how good a coach he is doesn't carry any weight with the Mighty Joe Barry after a 13.5 sack season.
 
It's one thing for a new DC (like him or not) to pick his own coaches. He doesn't know Baker from Adam. I can understand wanting your own guys. But it's another for the team to insist on keeping a coach who isn't getting the job done.
 
I can't wait to find out who 'his own' guys are. I wonder if any hail from South Florida? :laugh:

One thing we do know. He is down with keeping his secondary coach, who not coincidentally gave him a job after he bombed out of Detroit.

Nothing like payback at this franchise's expense.

Personally I don't believe that any unproven coach coming off a poor rookie campaign has 100% control over anything.

Scot and Bruce are no doubt giving Gruden 'advice' on assistants and other football decisions.

Jay looked as lost at times as Josh McDaniels did in Denver several years ago.

He couldn't reconcile all the hard work he said players were putting in with the team's lack of execution on Sundays.

That was a theme over and over again during that mid season swoon.

It's one thing to lose to SF or Seattle but to get bombed 45-14 by the no account 6-10 Giants?
