Good! He is older, hopefully wiser, more mature and has had a year in the system under Kyle Shanahan. He is probably nothing more than a back-up, but could be a stop gap for the rookie we bring in.

Now we can trade Jason to the Rams and next year's "whatever" pick to move up to #1 to pick Sam Bradford. LOL!

Well, clearly Mike and Kyle thought the team was too ugly, and are bringing sexy back to DC.

This one's all about what's between Grossman's ears. If he's a character guy and smart, he can be a solid backup in a WCO (though his career completion percentage is less than impressive). And if the Skins opt to go QB in the draft, Rex could be a mentor and even stopgap starter in 2010.

If he's a dickhead, then I will be left to listen carefully to what Shanahan has to say in terms of divining their thought process on this one.

They must have seen something the great majority of fans don't ... I'll be curious to see what that is.

Makes more sense than Collins I guess, not bad to have in mix to add to the QB competition.

This is a familiarity move. The OC is better served by having at least one QB who understands the new system he’s putting in. I don’t have a problem with this one as long as he’s not going to be the full time starter.

I'm okay with this signing.....better than Collins in this situation. Curious to see how things unfold now. Trade Campbell? Keep him? No idea. Like others here, though, I'll wait and see and put my faith in the new braintrust. They do seem to be making moves with a definitive plan in mind...not just randomly. That bodes well...

Exactly. Nothing more, nothing less.

I really don't think this says anything about Campbell's future in Washington. Shoot, Grossman may not even make the team. If they brought in Grossman to mentor a younger QB and to be stop gap until the rookie is able to take over, then I think they are crazy.

I think this says more about Brennan's status on this roster than anything. I think we definitely draft a QB, whether at #4 or not, and one of these QB's will be expendable. I just don't see it being JC. He will still be a better option than Rex.

I saw that on another forum OM, and really did not find it funny. I usually do not find huge chunks of profanity that funny, and thus usually hate newer comedies.

Although, I did find Ethan Albright's letter to John Madden hysterical.

A one year deal. This is nothing more than having someone on roster that knows the offense. If he is brought in to teach Campbell, a rookie, or both is the question.

I have no problem with that, brother ... to each his own. :)

FWIW, I posted it more because it was timely and relevant given the Rex signing and his clear on-field (read: INT) issues than for any great comedic value. I did think it was mildly amusing though. Maybe because I read it with Richard Pryor's voice.

Pryor, eh? Interesting, the voice that ran through my head reading it was Dane Cook-who I absolutely loathe as a stand-up comic-made the piece even funnier than it already was, for some reason-prob'ly because both of 'em strike me as major league douchebags.

Omniscient, this is odd, but I didn't enjoy the Ethan Albright one very much-maybe because the language seemed out-of-character, I can seriously picture Grossman having a stream-of-consciousness conversation with himself that would sound just like what was written. :bucktooth:

Personal tastes are funny things.

am I the only one who doesn't care about this?

He spent I think one year in that system. I don't think he knows a lot of anything. But like OL and RB and LB and DB...we are thin. So, it is what it is.
