2014 NCAA Football Season

Well, I did not expect us to repeat, I thought we would have lost earlier in the season so we exceeded my expectations. However, I certainly didn't expect the SEC to be the officiating crew for the game. It is one difficult task to beat the referees and a team as good as the Ducks offense is, especially when your rookie keeps fumbling the football.

Well, cannot blame that complete melt down in the 3rd quarter on the refs. That was bad!

How can you have a 5 on offense and defense?

They suit up so many players in college football, they allow duplicate numbers on opposite sides of the ball.

Glad to see Ohio State win. The only two teams my alma mater Michigan State lost to are the two teams in the championship game.

:joyous:

I hate Ohio State. My brother is a huge Michigan fan so I have spent a good portion of my life hating them. Tonight, I really hate them as a Tide fan. I hope Oregon mops the floor with them & wins the National Title.

Alabama had very little sense of urgency at the end of that game & probably could have run about 3 or 4 more plays in the time they had. OSU wanted it more.

Good for them.

I still hate them.

Roll Tide anyway.

Hail to the Redskins anyway.

Caps won, so my day wasn't a complete loss.

Well, it's a good thing the Redskins prepared the way for handling the embarrassment of a thrashing on the last game of the season. That Rose Bowl was painful.

Oregon is not "that" much better than the Seminoles, they simply took advantage of mistakes. Neither team could afford them and FSU made 4 tragic ones in the 4th quarter to fall apart. That loss is more on FSU than the win is for Oregon.

**** the Ducks!

As for that Bama game, it looked like Saban simply got out coached. A crying shame that 2 programs for which I have had a lot of respect in my life are coached by such douchebags...Urban Meyers and Nick Saban, but Meyers is the worst.

I will not watch the National Championship. Call me a baby, but I simply won't.

Winston froze in that game and just never recovered. It seemed like in the 3rd he just kind of threw in the towel and never was able to get his composure back. The ducks defense definitely rattled him and threw him off his game but I do agree that Oregon isn't that much better. They just had a better executed plan.

They were 'that much better' yesterday. Sorry B, but the 'Noles just got dominated yesterday. They got out-executed and out-physicaled (yeah, I know it's not a real word) in almost every phase of the game. I thought Jameis played fine overall. But the team in general didn't look as talented as the Ducks looked to be. Not this year. You shouldn't feel pain...put it in perspective, not only do you root for a team that won a recent national championship (how many see their alma mater do that - ever?), but they had a chance to get back to the big game the next season. I know it hurts to see your team lose (don't we all know). But come on, I can't feel too sorry for you on this front.

Not buying it John, the Ducks capitalized on errors, they didn't do anything special on defense. We just turned the ball over 4 times in the 3rd quarter. You can't do that against a team with an offense like that. They started teeing off on Jameis when their defense was 3 scores up, that's when Jameis got rattled. Prior to the 1st 2 turnovers in the 3rd quarter, we drove on them with relative ease.

Like I said, neither team could make mistakes, we did and they didn't. We play them 5 times we win 3. I am convinced of it.

I've hated the Noles since we were all in the ACC and I was a teenager so I'd make any excuse to hate on them. But I think Brian is spot on here. 4 turnovers against a high powered and fast offense like Oregon is something you can't come back from.

And Winston looked shook.

Those turnovers didn't just 'happen' guys. You sound like Cowboys fans :)

Now why insult me like that? I made no mention of jarheads intelligence and football involving too many things for them to comprehend ;)

Compra what?

Yeah, they happened by a Freshman WR and RB protecting the ball properly. I thought to myself before the game...if Cook holds onto the ball, he will have a huge game. Problem is, as dynamic as he'd been down the stretch, he almost blew a couple games because he couldn't hold onto the ball.

And I will punch you in the gizzard for comparing me to one of those!

Agree with Brian on this one. They were matching the Ducks TD for TD and on each turnover, the Seminoles were moving down the field with ease. Take those away and you have a shootout. That is how you beat Oregon - in a shootout.

Ah - Custer's ol' 'if it weren't for all these damn indians, I'd like our chances!' argument :)

And that...ladies and gentlemen...is why Marcus Mariota will not be the number one pick in the draft. There is your recipe to defend him.
