While I understand the sentiment of feeling like a puppet, I've never understood the "leave the stadium empty" tactic. Do people really think Dan Snyder would rather make money than win? Every move the guy has made was because he has wanted to win. We can go through the history and state how almost all of them have been bad moves, but that's because he's an idiot when it comes to football. The money part is frustrating because he will squeeze every penny out of every single aspect of the team win or lose. But hat part of it won't change. Snyder wants to win more than anyone in this city. It's why he bought the team. He just has shown he has no clue how to win.

I dont doubt that he wants to win, I do doubt that he looks at himself any differently if Redskins fans dump all their tickets. I firmly believe that he doesn't think what he is doing with the team is why they are losing. He thinks he is part of the solution, not the basis of the problem.

Sadly, that is correct. He doesn't see himself as the problem.

I don't know what the truth is Kel, but I don't see any proof of your belief in Snyder's intentions. He's also spent an enormous amount of his focus and energy trying to make as much money as possible. Charging for training camp, putting ads on anything and everything possible (go spend 5 minutes on Redskins.com for example), Pimping products nearly every second of every game, shoving extra seats into Fedex in places no reasonable person would try to place seats.

And it's interesting that despite his utter failure to produce an even marginally successful team on the field, the Redskins are one of the most lucrative sports franchises in the world.

Why is he so capable in that aspect but not elsewhere? I don't think it's that hard to figure out - it's what he really loves and cares about and what occupies most of his focus.

You can tell me how much he wants to win and how committed he is to it. But I don't see any evidence of that. It's been a hell of a long time since he was a little kid with his Pat Fisher belt buckle. I'm not giving him my benefit of the doubt any more. Frankly - he owes the fans, not vice versa.

I will say that he's seemingly backed off. The way the Griffin situation unfolded, at least on the surface, didn't lead me to believe that Gruden was in hot water. I hope the trend continues but that's anyone's guess. Only time will truly tell.

I'll buy the argument that he wants to win. Afterall, among other things, winning will only add to the financial success of the franchise.

The scary part about the whole situation though is that even if Snyder truly decides that he wants to put the franchise's fate in the hands of somebody else because "he has shown no clue how to win," we are still depending on him to bring in the right guy with the appropriate skill set needed to lead.

It's no wonder that we are so deficient in terms of talent on the field. It's called the trickle down effect.

It's not a matter of 'wanting to win' - what does that even mean really? It's a matter of being committed to building a winning franchise and nothing other than that goal mattering. I don't see that kind of single-minded purpose.

Jameis in the third round? Haslett has a better chance of being named coordinator of the year.

Didn't the Jets just throw for 49 yards in a game? They also ran the ball a record 49 times in one game. 49 passing yards and 49 rushes in one game?

Wouldn't they draft a mannequin in the top 5? Literally anyone in the top 5?

I know there's no way in hell Rak gets retained for any $ he's expecting, dudes only move is bull rush. Curious if he'd be worth a damn sticking him on the DE spot after gaining some serious lbs.

Already listed around 260, 30 more or so and rush him from more of a middle position on the d-line.

I'd be fine with that as long as he's paid accordingly. Just seems he'd fit ON the line better than at LB. we need to get more athletic there, kinda like the gnats IMHO.

interesting sequence of posts..so let's assume we have adequate talent evaluators in place (otherwise...all bets are off)...what's the best strategy for rebuilding the team?

- focus on one element of the team? (e.g., o-line)

- focus on plugging the worst holes? (e.g., draft safety in the first rnd, RG or LG in second round, etc)

- focus on skill players?

As the team sucks more the stands around me become more and more empty on game day, and I sit in sec 219. I have a hard time believing Snyder hasn't felt that and is OK with it. Winning solves EVERYTHING, why folks think Snyder has become accepting of losing is beyond me. How many times does he have to be over the top emotionally after a big win or loss for people to get that he cares as much about winning as the rest of us? Is he a douche...probably, I've never hung out with the man. But I just don't get why people think he's OK with losing.

Not a terribly deep analysis...but consistent with the story you want to tell! even the casual observer can recognize that there are multiple factors in play....some of which you acknowledged long, long before Griffin's decline. I do remember our conversations at Panera my friend! I do remember your posts - going back years - vis the lines.

If the OL hasn't gotten the message by now, then a brief video ain't gonna make the slightest difference in their play.
Another thing, why is it the OL coach is never called out, for accountability in our atrocious line play ?

Do we even have an O-Line coach? Good grief.

We currently have less than $300,000 in available cap space. My guess is, a lot of this season's decisions were based on not making that number even worse. Some releases, Rak's 11mil, and 15mil or so in dead cap space, along with the annual increase to the cap, will go a long way towards upgrading the roster.

Be patient folks. 4 games left. Let's see if we can win them all, and worry about the offseason, once it actually gets here.
