I don't see this game coming down to our offense versus the Dallas defense.
What looks to me like a complete mismatch is the Dallas offense against our defense. Their strength is in the OL, we simply do not pressure the passer. We don't get off the field on 3rd down (41.7% opponent conversion rate, 17th overall), they convert better than anyone (57.4% conversions, 1st overall). Romo is mobile and dangerous on the move--we can't contain Clipboard Jesus.
If we were heading into this game with a legitimate NFL pass defense, I'd like our chances with Colt and Co. holding their own in a close game. But I'm having a hard time seeing our D keeping this a close game, or getting us short fields to play on, which means we're likely playing uphill and trailing ... forced to try rely on our average-armed QB behind our below-average (he says with straight face) pass-protecting OL.
So it's a damn good thing none of that objective analysis matters when it's Redskins vs Cowboys.
Beat Dallas!!
