I've got to agree.

In fact, the Seattle style of offense would work well with Robert, Alfred and Helu. The pistol was a killer because the exchange was so close to the line of scrimmage. Back up the exchange a bit, and we could mimic that offense easily.

I agree. In fact, I would say that if we were to go back to that style, it would make that sad excuse for an OLine look good again because they wouldn't have to pass pro as much.

Didn't Gruden say, early on, that it would be foolish to try to force Robert into being a pocket passer? If so, then why is he trying to do so? Because of pressure from around him or because he truly thinks that's the best way to win WITH HIM? They need to take a step back, take a deeeeep breath, & suck it up that Robert is far more dangerous when he is a run threat. He is capable of making big plays like Wilson did on us last night & like he did on the Vikings, the Cowboys, & everyone else we faced his rookie season. Robert is a special gift that we are wasting trying to make him like everyone else & that's the biggest problem. Robert is NOT like anyone else. And he can't be treated like anyone else. Let that boy RUN!!!

For what it's worth, & despite my original statements of refusal to watch tonight's game, I did anyway against my better judgment. I can't seem to help getting excited for a Redskins game. These days, that's a bit like getting excited to watch your dad beat your mom.

That said, nothing changed except that Seattle was pretty much doing everything they could to hand us the game, but we simply didn't want it. The things they did to get penalties tonight was sometimes on the outrageous side. And at terrible times to boot. But we couldn't keep momentum on offense & couldn't force the turnovers we needed when we needed them. Oh well. Not really at all surprised. Hail anyway. I'm a lifer either way.

They did do everything to give us the game, but we lacked the dynamic play from our QB. While they could key in on one running threat all night, we had to worry about two. They kick ass running the option, and so did we in 2012. Robert had a way of keeping drives alive. I don't fault Cousins, it's not in his skill set to play that way. If the D wasn't on the field because we were sustaining drives, we would have had a better chance of stopping seattle.

how about "if the seahawks didnt keep shooting themselves in the foot with blatant penalties"? Every one of those 3 were legit calls and if ANY team is going to complain about bad reffing it should NOT be the team that got the INT/TD last year.

On top of the O-line and pass pro, they also can't run block anymore. Why? Because without a QB threat to run, they d-line sells out for the run. With RG3 in there, one defender would either hold back or get caught on his heels figuring out who had the ball. That allowed Morris to have bigger holes and make bigger plays. He's found it tougher to run so far this year and it's because the Read Option, mesh handoff, whatever you want to call it, gave the defense something else to think about. That gave the O-line an advantage that they needed. But this year, we are seeing how the O-line isn't as good as we thought even at run blocking.

As far as Gruden making Griffin a pocket passer, we never got to see the true plan. Running the read option against a 3-4 team like Houston would get Griffin crushed. So they did not have that in the plan. It was in for game 2 against Jax, but Griffin gets hurt. So I'm still curious how this offense will really look with Griffin. I agree that the coaches need to use the strengths of the players. With Griffin, you use his legs because that is his advantage.

Two of those TD's were on the same possession, so it's one of those JFK/three shots in five seconds things when it's only really two shots (the first doesn't count against the timer). Duhr, you can't score two TD's on the same possession...

The same time, you can also make the case that the penalties allowed them to "score."

Not that I'm making any excuses. Seattle did everything within their power to give away the game, for whatever reasons. We didn't take.

I can agree with that...but the refs didnt give us any penalties. They got them by themselves.

I wish that holding penalty would have been called that Wilson scrambled on at the end...even offsetting would have been nice. I just dont like losing due to poor officiating considering these guys are paid to do that job.

if you don't let him do what comes natural to him, might as well trade him to a team that will use him properly.

A lot has come out of the park, and yes there was his dad saying he didn't want him running that. Don't know that Robert actually said it, and it could have had to do with Shanny. Gruden was brought in because he was the brightest prospect in assistant coaches out there, and seen as a great offensive mind. Somebody that could use Roberts skills wisely, not wastefully. Before he screwed his ankle, he had two designed runs in the Jax game. All it takes is one or two to have the D on guard. Then you take what's given by the D. Robert is fine in the pocket, when there's is one. When teams know he not going to run, a girls field hockey team could beat our line. We need the threat of Robert to loosen up D's. Gruden never said he wasn't going to run Robert. He has said he was going to use his unique skill set to the best of his ability while trying to keep Robert healthy.

During pregame, I caught a little detail about Wilson scrambling. I watches for it, and it works. When he scrambles and is heading for the sideline, he speeds up as he gets close instead of slowing down as every QB does. It helps him avoid a lot of contact. I'm pretty sure Robert can do that. He doesn't try for that extra foot, and takes what's given, then slides. While Robert seems to have an issue, he can be taught.
