is this a critical game?

And it set a tone, just like last year. We could end up with the first pick in the draft.

I'm not going down that road just yet. Gruden struck me as if he's gonna be in some coaches and players faces.... and I don't think he'll wait for meetings tomorrow. While it's gonna be a long flight home for the entire team, I'm thinkin a few people will think there sittin on a fire ant mound....
 
It won't matter. He can yell until being medium rare or well done in the face. It just won't matter.

Right now, I can't agree with that. I think he knows if he's going to succeed as a head coach, he'll have to make a point by benching or cutting people when they grossly under-perform.

Yeah. I won't be surprised to see Rambo cut this week. At the very least, benched. And if I were Niles Paul, I wouldn't get too comfortable either. I could see demotions for either or both of them, and deservedly so.
 
Maybe he will make an example of someone, but will it matter? Right now, I don't think so.

It won't matter one bit, who he makes an example of, if their names don't end in Chester or Polumbus.
Eliminate the mistakes and blunders of the Defense, Special Teams, Penalties, or Fumblers, all you want, but we're still not going to win ANY games, as long as RG3 is literally running backwards on every stinkin pass play.

What sucks is that while we have options at safety, we really don't with Reed getting hurt. Paulson is reliable, but runs like a truck horse, and normally get called at least once a game for a hold. Paul blew it in a fundamental way. You know there commin after ya, wrap the ball up tight for cryin out loud.

All things aside, like you said, it is just one game. Yes I'm pissed we stepped on our own members and blew a very winnable game, but I'm not crushed by this. I'm a bit more concerned with the D line as of this minute. They did a dam good job, but the loss of our nose today, and his back-up even before the first game isn't sitting good. A high ankle sprain can be a real pain in the ass to recover from, and being thin already can really hurt us. You saw it in the run game today. While Cofield isn't an ideal nose, he's a dam good run stopper. Even before we got Hatcher, we were hard to run on. Texans made it look easy at times today.

Robert needs to run. All he needs to do is break one good long run, to show he still can. Gruden has to find a way to have Robert run an option type offense to keep teams on guard. It will back off the rush to some degree. I know, and agree, the right side can run like hell, but are like tissue paper in pass pro. It needs to be fixed, and starting to think that those saying start the rookies on the right side, and take our lumps sooner rather then later are right.

That's it. Teams know, that with the offense we currently run, that all they have to do is blitz, and we're doomed.
The least we could do, is get a RB who is a decent blocker
