5th Annual BGO Ballers Fantasy Football League

well, missed THAT draft. This should be fun to see for the first time.

Yahoo loved your draft. But I guess if they did all the picking for you, how could they hate it.

Stupid babies taking up valuable drinking and drafting time!

Shi,

Does that mean we are playing with 3 WRs for the season? I thought you said at some point during the League #2 draft that you could/would change that 3rd WR position to a Flex position.

That is unfortunately correct. It will not let me change it, which is stupid. It should have been that way to start, as I cloned the other league to create it. I did not see the 3 WR thing until the draft had loaded, and it told me I couldn't make changes until after the draft. After the draft, it said I couldn't make changes once the draft had completed.

The only way I can change it is to re-do the entire draft. I leave that up to the rest of the group. If everybody has Labor Day off, I suppose we could have a re-do tomorrow if that is desired.

My apologies.

Shi - we appreciate all of your hard work in running the two BGO leagues. I suspect anyone that had a good draft would prefer not doing it over but other than that I'll stay out of it. It sounds like a # of guys didn't even do their own draft so the different format shouldn't be a huge deal.

Didn't even realize we have to go with 3 WRs. I assumed it was the same set up as the last couple of years I've played at BGO with a flex position. Hence why I went crazy with drafting RBs and largely ignored the receiver position...

No reason to even consider redoing the draft though, Shi. I'm fine with things the way they are and am just happy to be playing.

It essentially comes down to having luck, a few breakout players, and being active on the waiver wire with shrewed moves to ensure you survive long-term.

It was a fun draft and thanks for setting it all up.

I was graded with a D+ today and would likely be given a D- on a redo, so I'm fine :)

My league #2 team, not so good as my League #1 team

Yeah well you knocked it out of the park with draft #1 so there's that. Well done sir.

Thinking too much got me in the arse... wanted to take Levion Bell, but didn't he just get busted with weed in the car? Isn't that gonna come down the pike this season? Personal conduct cases are soo freaking hard to read.

Loved the way Knowshon Marino looked in the preseason in Miami (local tv has all their games for me) but wondered too much about time he would split with Miller.

Here is my team and report card.

Grade: B

Led by a Talented WR Corps, Burgundy's Burners Will Likely Reach Playoffs.

Draft Summary

Putting together a decent team, Burgundy's Burners didn't want to show up the BGO Ballers #2 League and build some unbeatable juggernaut. They instead focused on building a team with a good chance to make the playoffs. They aimed for having a roster with balance throughout, taking QB Drew Brees (8th overall), RBs Arian Foster (32nd) and Ben Tate (56th), and WRs Brandon Marshall (17th) and Victor Cruz (41st). They built one of the most prolific groups of WRs in the league, as they added Marshall, Cruz, Julian Edelman, and Terrance Williams.

Whether by good fortune or well-planned strategy, Burgundy's Burners has secured a favorable bye week schedule for their superstars. Of their top five players in projected points, none share a common off week. Based on their opponents' projected points, they have one of the least challenging schedules. In addition to having the third-easiest overall schedule, Burgundy's Burners also has the second-softest last four games of the season.

Carrying the Load
Burgundy's Burners has four above-average positions with QB and TE projected to lead the way.

Close to the Vest
Burgundy's Burners was focused on a squad with minimal volatility, grabbing six "low-risk" players out of 15 picks.

Nearly There
The top half of the Burgundy's Burners roster is one of the strongest in the league (ranked No. 2). However, the bottom of the roster is among the weakest (ranked No. 10).

A Low Floor, but a High Ceiling?
Burgundy's Burners nabbed a sleeper in Cody Latimer with pick No. 176.

Bargain Shopper
With three steals in the first 9 rounds (Terrance Williams, Greg Olsen, and Arian Foster), Burgundy's Burners made some shrewd moves.

Biggest Steal
If other Yahoo! users are right, Burgundy's Burners got a steal in the ninth round, when they selected Terrance Williams (104th overall pick vs. ADP of 76.8).

That's a nice draft, especially for your first time BB.

I'd now suggest reading up on the waiver wire process. Most importantly, the time your waiver requests need to be in, and the order of selection.

My apologies.

Admittedly, I would have drafted differently had I known this but we were all in the same position so no worries. You had no way of knowing before hand and did the best you could. Thanks for your efforts and for running two leagues. It's greatly appreciated.

:)

guys,

Jason Witten is immediately on the trading block to anyone who will have a Cowbum on their team. Make me an offer..

Yeah, i overdrafted on RBs as well. I have the feeling the waiver wire will be active tomorrow....

HA! Good luck with that. I said during the draft that I hoped the auto drafter before me would take Dez Bryant. He was clearly the best player up at that time, but I did not want to take him. Thankfully the CPU didn't let me down.

I see Welker is getting dropped already...I wonder if anybody will stash him for later?
