Tampa Bay's GM is in the booth on the local broadcast.

Announcer: "The Bucs have had some key injuries at the RB position. I imagine some of these Washington RBs are catching your eye tonight."

GM: "The Redskins have an absolute wealth of riches at the RB position."

I doubt that a GM would openly and honestly make such statements on a broadcast, as it would clearly drive up the price of those RB's if it indeed were true

He pretty much said those words - verbatim. I had the TB broadcast on and that GM was in the booth for the entire 4th quarter (way too long, ugh), but he did utter those words.

He sounded like he might be touching himself under the table when he said it.

All three of the announcers were gushing over Redd and Seastrunk tonight. I felt badly for Demps, but yeah, that GM would leap at a chance to sign either player due to the injuries in Tampa.

I wasn't questioning the factuality of whether or not he said it.
My point was, that if he said it....either

1) He may be just putting up a type of smoke and mirrors
2) He's not very smart for showing his hand
3) It was an impulsive/ knee-jerk reaction like McD5 said, and he just couldn't help himself

Why else would he create such a high demand on those players, and thereby put them in a position that they would end up trading for players, that they could have otherwise picked up off of waivers, had he not made the statement.
Just my opinion and speculation on that matter - not claiming to be an expert

Fear, I don't know much about their GM, or his past experience. I do know they have been very active in the last few days in making trades and bringing other players in for a look.

He sounded like he wasn't done making moves, and he was salivating over our RBs. He would have handed out contracts tonight if he could have, and he wasn't shy about sharing it.

It was definitely unusual to hear, which is why I posted it. It did have a Vinny type of feel to it, now that you mention it.

I suspect they'll be right near the top of the list to grab whichever one doesn't make it. They won't be the only ones though.

I think Royster had a job til last night. The youngins showed up last night, even Thompson, and Royster fell on his face. Thompson came out healthy, so I think we keep him and Seastrunk and try to designate Redd to the practice squad... he only flaw in this plan is I wouldnt be surprised if Redd doesn't make it to the PS.

Just watched a short video from last night as Joey T. is interviewing Gary Clark. He referred to Clark, Monk, and Sanders as the "Three Amigos". Bah.

Tough call, agree with Silas, looks like he could spell Alf quite handily and pickup the pace if need be.

Helu, Seastrunk, Thompson can almost be lumped together

Helu, been there done that vet presence, a little bigger than the jitterbugs.

Seastrunk, hands don't look bad so far, good quicks.

Thompson, looked a bit smoother than Seastrunk but durability questions abound.
