Possibly saving Cousins for trade?

I see it as a dress rehearsal for McCoy. They want to see if he is a viable option as backup to Griffin. Just in case someone makes an offer for Cousins we can't refuse.

There are a lot of teams (Houston) that need a qb desperately. He hasn't had much value before but he might now.

But everyone seems worried about griffs health too so trading him is suspicious.

St Louis is another one...

Agree with all the comments. I do think we keep him though.

And to add two teams...

Giants and Pokes. Ha!

would you trade him for an OL? What player would you trade him for?

An angle I thought of here is the idea that if you are trading player for player the team you are trading with is giving up a player whose ability to play at an NFL level is more of a known quantity whereas a draft pick is an unknown thus making it easier to risk giving up a higher draft pick because of the increased level of uncertainty.

Plus, it's a future asset in a win today or get fired tomorrow business.

Right on..I know we desperately need a RT but I wonder if we can get more. QBs are definitely worth more than OL usually.

More ?
Sure, I'll gladly accept more.
Throw in a safety, and it's a deal.
Doesn't even have to be stud safety - just a safety who can simply stay on the field - whether it's injury (Thomas), off the field behavior (Tanard), on the field behavior (BM).....etc

Typically, if you're wanting to trade a player, you don't sit him in preseason, rather you play him more, for his audition. Therefore, McCoy could be the one we trade.

Not if you've been in contact with another team and you dont want them to get hurt... Mallett is sitting out too, and all the buzz is that NE is posturing to trade him.

that would be our luck, too. working up a big trade with someone and Cousins gets hurt ala Sanchez and we get nada for him
