Random Commanders Thoughts

It was already happening as early as last Friday to pump up the Monday Night game. Clayton was talking about how this was one of the major headlines for the game.

The media love on Johnny Football overshadows all.

I'm ok with that. Let someone else's QB get all the headlines this offseason.

Steve Mariucci went 13-3 in his rookie head coach season in the NFL
Chuck Knox went 12-2
Bill Cowher and Bobby Ross both went 11-5
Sean Payton and Mike Tomlin each went 10-6
Heck, even Potsy Clark went 11-3 in his NFL HC rookie season.

See where I'm goin with this ?

Clayton is a Seahawk homer and has always had a hate on for the Redskins. Consider the source. Same guy who said DeSean should come to Seattle because the Redskins locker room was a shambles and he could never fit in with Washington.

Do you mean that he can come in and win it all?

Does hoping Kerrigan and Orakpo meet in the middle and squeeze the mustard out of a Manziel sandwich Monday night make me a bad person?

My preference is for them to use the extra roster spot on a WR or O-lineman.
Receivers seem to get injured much more often than RB's.
And we need to try to develop as many of these young lineman as possible.

It wouldn't necessarily be an O-lineman or WR. It could be Colt McCoy. It could also be a DB, like a Crawford type.

I am a little pleasantly surprised to see that Rich Tandler agrees with what I had thought, although it's not a popular opinion at the moment. This would shock a lot of fans.

Redd over Seastrunk. I can't put a finger on exactly who Redd runs like, but he looks like a star. Maybe a young Chris Johnson is who he reminds me of.

That's what I figured. I was being sarcastic, because signing a player just for inside info doesn't usually happen for preseason games

I don't believe a Redskin has been signed since maybe Pierce in order to learn anything about our team.

I used to shake my head during the Zorn tenure when some delusional fan would suggest that teams were trying to get info on us.

I promise you, teams didn't need any extra info on us to beat us handily. We've been through some tough years.

I think it's happened a few times, I just can't remember names - which makes sense, because if they're signing a player to milk them for info, usually it's a marginal player - which would mean his name would be hard to remember years and years later.

And I disagree about Pierce, too.
He was a solid player, before and after the Giants took him. So they had plenty of good reason to sign him, other than the above

I could be totally wrong, bit I think you may be giving us too much credit.

It wasn't necessary to steal a player to know that Gibbs was likely to emphasize the run. We'd keep Portis back to block, and send out only two receivers. That's not too hard to stop.

Zorn was trying to figure out his own play book, so I don't believe anyone was too worried about that.

Maybe in RG3's first season. That would make sense.

Pierce was good, I don't mean it like that. This might be a better example.

Do you think any team in the country right now is thinking about using a roster spot to try and get info on the Raiders? Of course not. Who cares what the Raiders do? There are better teams in that division that people will focus on. Ditto for the Jags. No team is thinking that beating the Jags is a priority this season. No one even cares.

We were at or near the bottom of the Division for so many years there, that it would have been more likely that a team might try to steal a player from the Giants for info.
