Skins Quotes 5/29: Jay Gruden

Part of the problem is that Gruden wants to retain some of the stretch plays that have been so successful for Morris there past two years; but that calls for the slighter OL that Shamahan loved. Moses is a mauler; a gigantic, crush your dreams kind of guy. He's not going to be as good in the zone scheme.

Gruden needs to pick an identity; zone scheme or power scheme, and that will dictate what linemen will start. I say plug Long and Moses in day one and go power all day. Three yards and a cloud of dust, baby!!

I think Gruden has said repeatedly that he wants to build the offense around the strengths of his players and even incorporate the kinds of plays his key players think work well. There are very few pure finesse or pure power offenses anymore, most teams are a mix. We're going to go bigger not because the plays we want to run dictate it, but because we have to of Griffin is going to have a lengthy productive career.

Polumbus is not an answer at RT but I would suggest that based on last year it is more important to see Long beat out Chester and add some strength and toughness inside.

Moses may not be a starter in 2014 but he has talent. Because he is not a freak athlete at 6'6 and 315 like Trent Williams doesn't mean he can't be a long-time contributor at RT.

me thinks the stats early on will dictate what happens. TP stands out as the weak link....he'll be gone pretty fast.
